I listen to NPR.

. . and spend a lot of my time hollering at the radio. So we pretty much accomplish the same thing - you and I.

I learned a long time ago that there are two things that will light some folks off on a tirade.

Religion and Politics.

Opposing points of view seem to get pretty heated. Someone is going away mad. Sometimes both.

Just sayin' My religion is better than your religion or my party is looking out for the best interest of the american sheeple is itchin' for a fight.

A Mirror image of this forum, except that the demons are all on the opposite end of the political spectrum. Go figure....

I suspect very few people know how to debate effectively...regardless of the political tinge of the forum. Framing propositions clearly....providing evidence to support propositions....avoiding fallacies of reasoning....evaluating the worth of referenced sources...acknowledging the valid aguments by one's opponents....etc etc etc. All too hard...or apparently unneccesary it would seem.

The apogee of debate more often than not is to copy and paste onto this forum, some unsourced opinion piece, without fact checking that the attributed original author actually exists or that the content of the copy and pasted article is factually correct. It pretty much all goes downhill from there, sadly.

It passes the time.. lol

Liberals really get upset when one quotes them. Or ask if Libya was an example of 0bama's leadership.

Or remind them of 0bama's speech in 2006 LOL

This statement says it all. The most aggravating thing about trying to discuss anything at all on the PC lib-leaning sites is that they all are crowing so loudly about how 'educated' they are, sociology degrees, communications degrees (that's especially a joke!), homosexual studies, and a slew of other worthless sheepskins, that they won't pause to ever realize how fallible they are in their arguments and beliefs. Its like they are arguing in favor of a religion instead of a political mindset. Logic is cast aside in favor of 'feelings' and 'beliefs', just about all of them naive and worthy only of the wimpiest ninnys. For the most part they have zero patience in anything with a hint of conservative (or non-lib) odor at all. I learned about a year and a half ago to just cruise the other sites and look over their continuing stupidity rather than try to waste breath in convincing them to reason. I still watch just to keep the pulse of the world at large, but as for talking to them, nope!

As liberals aren't tolerant and ban disagreement from their forums. So one can't have a discussion with them, a debate just isn't possible.

Because they are "academically" superior; I ask questions. As it pointedly excludes our children is the Dream Act discriminatory?
