First off us hams love to talk about our radios[winkthumb]:D

This one will also receive am/fm, tv audio, police bands, military bands and shortwave radio.
It is waterproof and suposedly submersible.
With this and an HF rig that does 2m,440 or 6m and an antenna on your roof will give you miles of coverage around your home.
It can be modified to transmit outside the ham bands.

Well, you have a good company supplying. I have a friend that is a NERT something or other and also a HAM operator and he swears by Yaesu. Most of his gear is built by them and it seems to me to work great, though I don't know much about the ability to do so. I know a little about CBs, though don't get me to lieing when it comes to HAM.

Those look great. I might have to upgrade from the VX-1R.
