Sometimes i ask myself why on earth would i want to make a folding knife. Anyway, this one has drove me crazy. It doesn't look like it but it took a full day just to inlay the gold into the ivory. You gotta be just a miteeeee careful to avoid chipping the ivory. I had to make an odd shaped chisel to get in there and dovetail the ivory. The round gold circles i will shape them into a raised dome shape then finish cutting a border around the gold so that it pops....

I made me a tomahawk so while i was doing it i made an extra one. I will just sell it at an upcoming show. I reforge good quality ball peen hammer heads because they are S7 steel, the S is to designate Shock resistant. You can chop into the hood of your truck with it. I use the back spike to grab brush to pull etc. I find it very useful around the homestead. I made two other designs years ago. One of them i just left the hammer poll alone and drew the back out...

The handle is Mesquite wood from a tree in Oliver Lovings front yard (he is the one that did the first old west cattle drives). The tree was alive in 1877 when the Southwest cattle rangers were formed in his yard. Part of the steel is from an old cowboy line camp on the King ranch. The handle design is the orginial coffin handle shape taken from James Blacks bowie knives (he made one for bowie referred to as Bowie #1). I just reduced it in size to fit this...
The one of one Texas Guppybelly Sendero. The blade has steel from an old cowboy line camp on the King Ranch.
First one of the "Stinkhorn" pattern. What i did was take the traditional Saddlehorn pattern folder and put a different blade style in it. Took a while to do that, timing etc,. It has a 2 3/4 inch blade in a traditional slipjoint action. I thought the Stinkhorn name was funny so i used that name and since it used a Saddlehorn handle, bam!. This is in my Off grid style and finish. Micarta handle that i carved up to give added grip. Now to try it out for a bit....
Not a knife but a 10x loup. These will go to two different clients. The engraving is similar to the engraving on each of their knives. I want them to have a nice experience when looking at the engraving at 10x, so even the loup they look at it with will be nice. . A lot yet to go on the one that is not blackened. It will get a row of beading on the border then it will have to have the background removed.
The technical part. This is...
