My wife got her first deer night before last. The locals say it is one of the biggest they have seen in the area. I'm so proud!! Here's her trophy
She got banged up some but she's alright. And the airbags didn't go off! I can't believe that. But it is probably a good thing. I have seen people who got more bruises from the bags than anything else.
You had me wondering what the heck weapon she used that would inflict that kind of damage... then I looked at photo #2. I'm glad that she's okay!
My mom drove an old Buick Skylark back in the 80's, and she plowed into a full grown doe at about 60 mph... It dented the bumper a little. (Nice to know that nobody was hurt on this hunt!)
Grabbed this from Wikipedia.... Triggering conditions Airbags are designed to deploy in frontal and near-frontal collisions more severe than a threshold defined by the regulations governing vehicle construction in whatever particular market the vehicle is intended for. U.S. regulations require deployment in crashes at least equivalent in deceleration to a 23 km/h (14 mph) barrier collision, or similarly, striking a parked car of similar size across the full front of each vehicle at about twice the speed.
Yep, they don't build them like they used to. The front end on her Hummer is all plastic. E.L., yeah I was thinking that too. I haven't seen a Hummer with a Ranch Hand. Maybe I can fabricate a cattle catcher like on a train!!
Sorry for the bad pic, it was late. I think the ranch hand would be too heavy for the H3, as it is built on a half ton platform. Ranch Hand and Top Gun do not build one for a Hummer either, but surely some company builds a stout front bumper replacement for it.
