privacy issues and the census NOW

Well here comes the latest attack. Too many of us have been vocal about objecting to the intrusive census questionaire so now the Government plan is to use your children against us. Check out this USA news article. Draw your own conclusions. And, talk to your kids about family OPSEC.

It may be neccessary to work with your kids at providing misinformation while supposedly completing the questionaire so that your children are not punished for not completing it.

Most of you know I do not approve of Public (government biased disinformation, rewrite history, politically correct, no God) Schools, so I will say nothing more about that....lol

Anyone tempted to ignore the 2010 Census will have a tough time doing it — especially if they have kids in school.

The government has launched Census in Schools, an all-out campaign targeting superintendents, principals, teachers, students and, indirectly, parents, as schools open across the nation this month and next. The message: The Census is coming and here's why everyone should care.

The goal is to send posters, teaching guides, maps and lesson plans to every school in the nation, Puerto Rico and U.S. island territories to encourage everyone to participate in the national count. The materials will land in more than 118,000 schools and reach 56 million students.

"It's great to reach the children because children are such strong voices in their homes," says Renee Jefferson-Copeland, chief of the Census schools program. "In households that are linguistically isolated, they can express the information to their parents."


The school effort is more ambitious than in 2000, the last time the government set out to count everyone. At that time, teachers had to request the material and it was available only in print. Now, the kits and lessons will arrive in every school and lesson plans can be downloaded online, where they will be available in 28 languages.

The Constitution mandates a complete population count every 10 years. The tally — down to the city block — helps redraw political boundaries and determine states' representation in Congress and the distribution of more than $400 billion in federal funds to state and local governments every year.

"It's extremely important for us," says Michael McGrady, associate director for partnership development at the National Head Start Association, which promotes school readiness for low-income children and their families. "Historically, Head Start families have been undercounted and that has a negative effect on their communities."

Between January and March, the Census Bureau will help plan a week of Census education in schools. During Census Week, teachers will devote 15 minutes every day for five days to the topic by discussing such things as civic participation, confidentiality or geography. Beginning in mid-March, more than 120 million Census questionnaires will be delivered to residential addresses.

The Census Bureau is partnering with Sesame Street to extend the 2010 Census message to preschoolers and adult caregivers. Under consideration: Using Sesame Street characters on Census materials and having characters participate in school events and public service announcements.

I can't think of one reason why anyone would want to send their children to the public schools.

Not for a better education.
Not for a safer environment.
Not for lessons in homosexual behaviour.
Not for drugs and peer pressure.
Not for marxist indoctrination from the teachers and curriculum.
Not so that my neighbors will waste money supporting said indoctrination.
Not so that I can deprogram them when they come home.
Not so that they can bring home the disease of the day and share it.
Not so that they can be told that firearms and self-defense are evil.
Not so that they can be abused by bullies.

I am sorry, I just can't think of any reasons why I should have let my children go to public schools.

My wife is a school supervisor at a local county system. They had a meeting the other day, and the census person came talking about this. When the CP left, the superintendent told the rest of the room ( supervisors and principals ) "pass out the forms, and that's it......we're not here to do their work for them"......which my wife took to mean compliance was waaaaaay down the list of things that need doing.....

 

The Census needs only ONE question answered by me....
"How many people live in my home?"

That's all they got ten years ago, that's all they will get this time around.

 

I was just telling someone a day or two ago about a dog our family had. A rare in the USA, german giant schnauzer of over 150 lbs that had a distaste for certain peoples, who would attack on command. there are times that i wish i still had him. you know, like when the irs comes knocking, or the batf, or magazine salesmen, or... or ....or, use your imagination ... lol

 

Yeah, but the real problem is with rabies and shots....
If your dog dosen't get them shots, and if they bite those people, sure as heck they're gonna get rabies from them people!
Poor dogs!

 

I'd worry more about the poor pooch getting sick from the tainted meat.....

 

I just have to play Devil's Advocate here for a minute, re: Public Schools.....I've been holding it in since this thread started...

My daughter is a product of Public Schools.

She also lived in a single parent household since she was 9, and both parents worked full time.

By all the statistics she should be a failure. Shows you what statistics are worth....

She graduated with a BS last year, from a good college, and was hired immediately making a very good, way about average, salary, in a hospital....

She is working full time right now, and working on another degree on her days off...

She went to Public Schools from K-12th grade...

She was involved in outside activities and school activities...She was in gymnastics when she was 5, and stayed with it through cheerleading up until she graduated...Her squad was the focus of a 2 hour Dateline NBC special called "The Dream Team"...They won Nationals 4 yrs in a row...

She played T ball when she was little, graduating to Babe Ruth, then High School softball...

I knew who she hung out with, and she was not allowed in children's homes if I didn't know the parents....Her friends were always welcome in our home....always. Especially the ones that came from troubled homes, as sort of a "Safe Harbor"...
When I found out one of her closest friends mother was doing cocaine? I didn't let her go over there anymore, but that woman's child was more than welcome in my home, any time....

Florida has a prepaid program, and I paid in to it and told her all along it was her responsibility to further her education...Responding to her ability. That was the definition I gave her...

She took Honors Courses when she could, and AP later on...

She received the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship for maintaining a high GPA all 4 yrs of her High School career, and maintained what she needed in College to keep that scholarship...

When she graduated last year? She had over 5 figures in her savings acct from monies that Florida Prepaid rolled over in to her checking acct since Bright Futures picked up 75% of her college fees....

The education is there...IF the child wants it, and if the parent instills in the child how important it is....

Not all Public School education is bad....Sometimes one just has to look at the parents and see where they are with their children...Just sometimes, it's the parents not being parents that is the problem...Not the schools.
