    I don't think it is.

I think that - in time - more people will contract, and overcome, the swine flu. For instance, a [not so] local university had over 2,000 cases of swine flu within the first few days of opening. Most people said it was a harsh flu, but 3 days of misery and it was over. Ta da!

As long as people use common sense (wash hands, rest, don't infect others), which we're getting plenty of reminders to do right now, I don't see this as being the horrific event that everyone was expecting.

We just received e-mail request for all kinds of personal contact information from the agency, just in case they cannot get in touch with us..........[peep]
Thankfully they don't know my bug-out location.

I agree, Tracy....One of my high school friends daughter got it right after school started. And yes, it was "Swine Flu" confirmed at MUSC in Charleston....

3 and 1/2 days in bed, and she was back to school in 5 ....Sick, achy, fever....and then back to normal in under 4 days......Of course, she's young...17. And in good health....

but that holds for any flu, cold, whatever....The older you are, the worse it's gonna be.....and I'll still get my regular flu shot this week.....I know a lot of y'all don't. I do. Never had the flu since I was a teen....and I never had any reaction to the shot....I also get the pneumonia shot...and it's time for that this year.

Tracy; (and you know how much I hate to be cynical!) but this gov is so far removed from reality, I don't think what actually happens has alot of bearing on their plans and reactions. We hear# of "cases" of swine flu and how many deaths in the U.S.???? No where near enough to mandate national guard checkpoints , involuntary vaccination and quarantines....[peep]

I believe they are looking for an EXCUSE, regardless of how mild it may be!

My Mom sent me this yesterday. Baptist is one of the largest hospitols in our capitol city.

Got this from a friend of mine. He checks out scam messages so I tend to believe it. Don't know for sure.

They had a meeting this morning on the H1N1 vaccination, and the doctors
at Baptist are advising that their staff and patients */_NOT_/* get this
vaccination. They have had several reports of people getting
Guillain-Barre Syndrome. They are also concerned about how fast this
vaccination has been developed and the lack of testing that has been
done concerning this vaccination. In fact one nurse at Baptist, has a
son that took the vaccination and has developed Guillain-Barre’s.

(Guillain-Barré syndrome is a disorder in which the body's immune system
attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. The first symptoms of
this disorder include varying degrees of weakness or tingling sensations
in the legs. In many instances the weakness and abnormal sensations
spread to the arms and upper body. These symptoms can increase in
intensity until certain muscles cannot be used at all and, when severe,
the patient is almost totally paralyzed. In these cases the disorder is
life threatening - potentially interfering with breathing and, at times,
with blood pressure or heart rate - and is considered a medical
emergency. Such a patient is often put on a respirator to assist with
breathing and is watched closely for problems such as an abnormal heart
beat, infections, blood clots, and high or low blood pressure. Most
patients, however, recover from even the most severe cases of
Guillain-Barré syndrome, although some continue to have a certain degree
    of weakness. )
