    More guns, more crime? Not in 2009.

    Stories of skyrocketing gun sales dominated the headlines earlier this year, with the number of gun-purchase background checks in the first six months of 2009 soaring 25 percent over the same period in 2008. Yet as the NRA points out today, murder in the U.S. has plummetted to a 46-year low
    <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> (with the largest year-over-year drop since the 1960s) even as gun ownership has risen to an apparent all-time high.
    Meanwhile, across the pond, gun crime in Britain has risen 89 percent since the UK banned guns in 1997.
    Some may jump too far in there conclusions, but we can at least say this: There is no evidence from the U.S. experience this decade that higher rates of gun ownership lead to more crime, nor from the British experience this decade that fewer guns translate to less crime.[own2][own2][freedom]
    <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } A:link { so-language: zxx } --> Even as more Americans exercised their Second Amendment rights, sending gun ownership to an apparent all-time high, crime in the U.S. plummetted. Newly released FBI statistics for the first half of 2009 suggest that 2009 will have had the lowest murder rate in 46 years. Background checks for gun sales in 2009 were up 25 percent from last year.

    This is a very simple equation and I don't know why the Libs can't grasp it. It doesn't mean that guns are good. Guns are made for just one thing, killing. So What? If they kill what is coming after you in defense of your life and property when the police have demonstrated a near total disability to defend same life and property, then FO! This is my life and property and I have the right to protect both by any means short of dying, that means when I run out of bullets, I'll use a club: It breaks and I'll bite you and chew your throat.

    The Libs get it but could care less about your safety and rights. They just want the guns taken away so they can push their moronic agendas and you have know way to fight back. Can not believe the people in England and Australia did not put up any kind of fight and just gave up their guns. Sure hope if .gov here tries to pull that shit the people will tell them to go to hell (I said that as nice as I could), but after seeing the post Katrina confiscation it kind of worries me.

    Perhaps the NRA should give Bo-Bo an award( he'll accept it, he'll accept anything: [IMG]) for increasing gun sales and thereby saving peoples lives and assuring liberty???

    I have heard about this, and I can't believe that people let this happen. Do you have a source with the details? I would really like to see this so that I can show it to some of the people that I know that think stuff like this never happens. And they live in California of all places.

    I have seen the youtube videos covering confiscation in Katrina. I heard that a law was passed federally to keep local law enforcement from doing this again in the future. Have any of you heard about that law?

    There is no such new law. Previously, and currently, the Posse Comitatus Act is what keeps the military from taking on police roles. Since 9-11, the entire area has become a shade of gray due to the obvious political corruption and classification of anything which challenges the authority of Slavery, Inc. as "National Security".

    The Corporate Media proclaims all Patriots to be [loco] conspiracy theorists, and since Lord Bush proclaimed all such people to be terrorists, it makes it easier for them to swallow their own crap.

    Below is a link in case you did not see this one. In the video with the older lady getting slammed against the wall and to the floor, the fourth cop in is a Commiefornia Highway Patrol "traffic officer" (that's what it says on their badge) and it would not suprise me if the one that slammed her was also. Guess they can't get enough of trampling peoples rights in their home state, so they are willing to travel half way across the country to do it!

    Thanks for the info Mountainman and Brokor. When I see this stuff, it is really difficult to believe that it has already come to this. There has really been a great job of covering this up since then. I am speechless. Something needs to be done to get this country back on the right track.
