Heres some photos of my last campout of 2009. I didn't take a lot of pictures but here is a few of my camp. A lot of people i know set up the fire first but i always like to get my tarp up first and get my kit under it just in case it rains and it did,i got the tarp up ground sheet down and unrolled my bed roll,i put the self inflating mat inside my bivvy bag and that was home. The next job was to get my fire going. To get the fire going i laid down some small split pieces of birch and used birch bark as my tinder, one strike with my steel and i was away,i then located enough fire wood to keep the fire burning all night and stashed it in a dry place near my camp. I got a brew on and settled in as the weather was getting stormy and it started rain but i had set my tarp up so the wind was behind me. I was so warm with the tarp set up to favour the fire and i found a nice flat piece of wood to used as a heat reflector,id also blocked both ends of my tarp with pine and laid pine on the floor of my shelter. I was that warm i slept on top of my bed roll all night, you could say i was snug as a bug in a rug Shelter set up. Bed roll sorted. Getting a brew on. Brew with a shot of whiskey Cooking my dinner. Emmmm time to eat,i eat my food strait from the pan this way i don't need to bring a plate or bowl. After my food i chilled out for the rest of the night with a few whiskeys and listened to the sounds of the woods, one of my favourites is to hear owl calls and the foxes cry.
First off, nice camp, secondly where are the cigars? I need to pick up a traveling humidor, a buddy has one they are really small and hold 2 or 3 cigars, anyway back to the camp. What type of sleeping bag are you using? In my area we use pine or cedar for kindling.
Funny you should mention cigars,at the time i was still smoking and i did a have a big fat Habana Cahiba. The sleeping bag is a Colemans exponent.
I can only dream of Cuban cigars here. Minuteman has been keeping me supplied with cigars from all over. Top notch too.
