Knives are "arms" and should be protected under the Second Amendment just the same as firearms.

The right to own and use pocket knives came under attack, with an attempt to ban the importation of assisted-opening knives, which are the bulk of all pocket knives sold in America today. This was beaten back by grassroots effort and leadership from Knife Rights, among others (formerly United States Knife & Tool Association, http://www.kniferights.org).

New Hampshire is promoting a bill to make knife possession unassailable, but to make criminal misuse of a knife a clear-cut crime. That would correctly separate criminal activity from possession of private property, a model that would work well for firearms and all other legal property. Protection is definitely needed for knife owners, knife collectors and those in the knife industry.

    http://www.knifelawonline.com/what-people-are-saying.html

Arizona introduced a bill, the first in a series of national bills sponsored by Knife Rights, to preempt localities from passing a patchwork of knife bans and infringements on any sharp tools, recognizing that knives can be arms as much as any other personal tools protected by the Second Amendment. The Arizona effort, already approved by the powerful state Judiciary committee and a model for other states seeking to protect their rights, needs support, go here: http://bit.ly/Scvp9http://bit.ly/Scvp9.

Well, the British would know. Apparently many feel quite safe leaving all of the protection up to the government...I know a few who disagree.

Too late now. It's NOT too late for us!

Most any object today can be used for criminal activity, eg: assault.
    Even "frozen squirrel meat"!
If any one group, or bunch of "activists" decide they need to ban something, it's always going to be a battle.
We can say that there have been heinous attacks on other's with things such as: meringue pies, snow balls, chalk erasers, paper airplanes, ....
    The list is seemingly endless......
"THEY" could ban everything, from pencils to rocks...then were would we be ?
My personal objective is to have all "zippers" banned...IMMEDIATELY!
    Talk about an assault !

Not that any of us will be around to see it but the way the Political idiots are going one day they'll do a study to find out how many people get punched in the mouth a year and need expensive dental repairs and some damn Democrat will propose a bill making amputation of peoples arms mandatory at birth !!

Why is it Americans always site the British as an example, maybe you should check out Spanish knife laws or German, they are much worse than ares.

I have carried a knife for as long as i can remember and have only had one problem with cops who like some of you guys have no idea of are laws.

Ive tried loads of times to explain this but it seems like im flogging a dead horse so ill give up now and leave you guys to wallow in your superiority and bask in the utopia that is the USA[ROFL]

I really am sorry you feel we are taking a crap in your tea. Fact is our second amendment is a volatile topic to many of us superior Americans. We don't want to go down the road of lies and disarmament of many other countries around the world. Unfortunately, The United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada all have bought into the "Gun control saves lives lie". Maybe none of these countries saw where gun control was taking them, but emotion and tragedy and politicians led you to someplace I think that maybe now you wish you had not gone. Here in Utopia we are patiently waiting until Bobo the socialist is gone from the presidential scene. We are doing everything we can to make his agendas stop, stall, be appealed, or brought fully and truthfully to light for what they are before they can be passed. We don't want a health care or taxation system like yours. I probably am scoring no points with you in saying what I have said, but you didn't seem so nice with your biting sarcasm either. We both have enough problems with our own political systems and politicians that we need not rag on each other. [beer] Cheers Redcoat.

    fortunateson I hate Illinois Nazis!

If you want to know where we're coming from, it's because this is how it's portrayed to us:

YouTube - Gun Control in the UK & Their Warning to the US

If this is in any way inaccurate, let us know.

We don't look at the UK in scorn, but as an example of what we shouldn't allow to happen to us.

PS. Congrats on the new PM.

Next cheap flight to the u.k. I am there... There is nothing sexier than a pretty girl with an english accent oohhh !! Or carries more character than a 200 year old pub...only ever spent a very short flight lay over there.
Vox, Royal Enfield, triumph, Norton and Marshall are pretty cool too!
never understood the whole " royalty" thing though.
I'm not a hard core "anglophile" but Id love to see it.

Well to be honest with you I like Americans and have some great American friends.

I don't understand the royalty thing myself so your not alone on that one.

And yes maybe there are to many sheep here that think the government will protect them but then there are those that know they won't.

Some good things have come out of the USA and some bad like gangster rap and Mc donalds.

I hope the people get rid of obomba just like we have got rid of brown.

Makes me wonder how we ever let these muppets take power in the first place.
