Experts Agree - Chaos Is Coming SOON.
Trends, Forecasts and Predictions for 2010
What can you do to be ready for the storm. It's coming...

This is a collection of many different experts that say we are going to get hit hard around middle of 2010.

Lots of people are doomsayers...but I think this is why you people come to these forums...because you intend to survive...my self included.

That requires preparation...There is a list of things you can do to prepare. before the article.

I'm not a doomsayer.. I'm a doom watcher. for if Dooooom happens.. we are in better shape than most, right?

Give us a BREAK. You're still giving us RUMORS.
" Someone heard it from an insider of the Illuminati"???
"An insider at a meeting of the Fed told someone"????
The Russians say that the US is going to break up into 6 separate countries,
(sort of like their Soviet Union did?)
This must be your version of Y2K that turned into Y2 WHAT?
And guess what, the sun came up on Jan first as usual, and
    NOTHING ugly happened.

Reminds me of the fellow that posted here all about how the
US financial system was going to crash last August 26th.
    Guess what? It didn't happen.

Smart monkeys will continue to prepare for emergencies, and emergencies mostly call for the same kind of supplies, we don't need any "DOOM and GLOOM types pulling our collective chain.

You do realize that the mega injections of cash by the Fed are the primary reasons we've been able to kick the can past last August, right? I'm not trying to defend hearsay.. but this is not uncommon knowledge.

I agree. It reads kinda like the "Jean Dixon Predicts!" section of the Enquirer.

But your comment about Y2K needs addressing. Y2K WAS a disaster in the making. It was averted because public an private entities spent BILLIONS to remedy the problem. Everyone in IT was part of the effort at some time. If the effort wasn't put forth we'd be living in the 1800s right now.

Same thing with Peak Oil. If things keep going the way they have, the Schummer WILL hit the fan. It is going to take a massive effort to avert catastrophe. It may happen and I don't belittle human innovation and resiliency, BUT, having the attitude of "don't worry, these things all went away in the past, I'm sure they will go away again"...
    Well, that's really poor preparedness.

I'm just saying that I am tired of purveyors of one or another kind of doom
always trotting out their latest predictions, and acting as if they are the sole saviors of humanity. They all seem to have their own agendas, and lining their pockets is #1 on the list. They need to get people to panic, and buy into whatever they are pushing.
Global warming? Can't prove it by me. Hole in the Ozone layer? Maybe, maybe not. And the world will end when the Mayan calendar ends in 2012 anyway right?
Unsubstantiated rumors serve no useful purpose, and they do not furnish any useful information to aid folks to prepare for the most likely of future events.

Folks here know the drill, and the basic preps you make for one emergency will likely serve you well enough for the things that are most likely to occur. Water, Food, Shelter. Everything else is Gravy

Suppose it's up to the individual to sift through the bulls**t then eh? If you're prepared, should you even care if people post doom and gloom predictions even if they are hearsay? :)

The end of it all is the ability to sift thru the possibilities and decide what presents you with a worst case, and prepare accordingly. Some of this is so far out, you should immediately go dig a hole and organize your own funeral, no point to trying. On the other hand, odds are you'll run out of gas sometime in rainy weather. Pick your own poison. This site provides guidance to cover the possibilities.

The gloomer/doomers are out to make money spreading their own particular solution for you to spend on.. (Have some of my custom special koolaide.) Might be me only that thinks that, but I do.

    Water, food, shelter, arms, medicine...
Lot's of people forget toiletries, and sanitation.
Most people don't think of what they will do with their own poop if the town sewer systems stop working ;)

But there's another potential situation that is WAY different, and that's TEOTWAWKI. That's the one that scares me somewhat because in that case I'd have to live sustainably after my supplies ran out. I'd venture to say that most people who consider themselves prepared won't make it through. Even for most people here, it's probably a work in progress.

I wish I was Amish - then I'd be prepped from the day I was born!

Life is a terminal condition;nobody is gettin' out alive.I'm a 50yrear old, male( FGawd that looks old in print... lol)there is no way I can or am going to store enough food, water ( air) for the next conceivable (albeit highly optimistic)25- 35 years of life left. I can make relatively short term emergencies more survivable and comfortable. If there is "anoxic event"(a poisoning of the oceans and the atmosphere or yellowstone supervolcano eruption occurs,Well somethings just are not survivable.
when exactly is the bottom gonna fall out of our national piggy bank? who knows?
    truth be told:

I probably was responsible for Aug26 rumors as folowing the webbots ,tea leaves chicken entrails and financial predictions by commentators like Gerald Cenlente was almost as much fun as spending a fewdays in thewoods and about as meaningful. Harmless b.s. Take it as such..

    yer gonna love this then:

    plenty of financial doom here:http://www.doomers.us/forum2/index.php/board,5.0.html

The correction, soon to be crash, is here: the market had a bigger relative open to close move today than it did on May 6. We closed at the day's lows on massive volume, despite definitive central bank intervention, regardless whether it was the SNB, the ECB, or the Fed. The central planners have lost control of the market, and all thanks to the inevitable collapse of hyper capitalist Keynesianism coming out of the formerly most communist country in the world. A day of ironies. And it's not over. Futures are already down another 4 handles. The correction is coming, and it will be a bloodbath. The Fed can not push rates lower. It will print. It is inevitable. It is our destiny.

Yes, you should care when people post rumors. FACTS give folks the knowledge necessary for making good decisions, rumors do not.
I don't know about most folks here on this site, but I check in here to gain knowledge and facts. Rumors are not helpful, and are at best unproductive,
and at their worst, they encourage a waste of time, money, and other precious resources.

If you know they're rumors, then why do you care?

My point is this.. you see a snake oil salesman.. you know he's a snake oil salesman.. do you stop to complain to the people being sucked in by him? or do you just move on leaving the responsibility up to themselves to not be taken for a fool?

Personally, I was just say "That's just a rumor" and move on. Getting all upset about it is a waste of time.

    I don't get your concern...

Things add up...we find rumors of:" The "possibility" of the u.n. security counsel voting to "assist" unemployed Americans with security concerns"; "you"
in Pasadena see rail flatbeds go down the track loaded with white humvees and APC's...( I don't see anything in Wi) Well one rumor + a piece of corroborating evidence can be a fairly useful thing to have in the back of your mind. Every one has to weigh what they read with their own experience... if some thing is too outlandish to be true it probably is...So you comeback and "yes I did see such and such on this date" that helps us Who aren't in Pasadena figure out what is happening in the country.(as the msm is a complete waste of time.).

The way I see it Everything on the 'net is a rumor until I see it with my own two eyes. I'm certainly not gonna go off "half cocked" because some militia yahoo's in MI are being arrested for rubber underwear or whatever....

And now that you've got the wheels turning:

What exactly is a "fact" ??? Where exactly do we go to find such nuggets to be taken at face value with out judgment??? In "fact" (pun) there are those who will tell you "We never went to the moon"and call it"fact". ( I would disagree).
Or Its a well known "fact":"we have "scalar weapons"( utter 'net techno-babble hype and rubbish).
Like Coast to coastA.M. regular:Richard Hoagland and his" amazing torsional physics" evidence. More tripe..

I know what it used to be but since " well senator that depends on the meaning of the word "is"...
all kidding aside he had a point grammatically:" IIrc the question was something like: " Is there a relationship.?"
could betaken to mean; present tense:" IS there CURRENTlY a relationship ( i.e. today). : the truthful answer could well be "no senator".

It's only rumor and conspiracy theory until it is proven.
    Project Carnivore.
    imbedded GPS in cell phones.
RFID chips in passports, in money.
    Phildelphia project.
Nearly every new survielence technique, new weapon, new tracking devices were all wild conspiracy theories and just rumors a decade before they became fact.

To dismiss all "unsubstantiated rumors" is as illogical and irresponsible as accepting them as truth.
