There are literally Gigabytes of file attachments in this forum and they are scattered all over the place.

I've installed a new spot for us to better categorize and house them: http://www.survivalmonkey.com/forum/downloads.php

If you have something to add, please go add it there and we'll see if it's a better way of hosting them.

You can also find the direct link in the navbar (at top of forum in the upper right corner) "Files"

    Thanks

Has anyone tried to add something yet? I know I can but I want to see if non-admin members are able to.

I was going to try tonight but have to wait until after 2300 hours because of my great (yea right) satellite internet that limits my bandwith.

Can you please add an area for "Food" downloads, as in growing, canning, and etc. books.

This site was run by me on Hughesnet/Direcway NAT restrictions for a few years. I hated it and was always getting myself put in the penalty box for a 12 hour period... It was my only alternative to dialup though

    Maybe it was FAP

That's what I have and the only other choice is dialup. From 2300 to 0300 hours you get unlimited use but any other time limited to 200Mb in a 24 hour period (FAP) or you get screwed to dialup speeds for 24 hours now.

It worked for me. Great idea!

It runs a little slow, could be the server...I understand the file must upload, but it still takes a long time. My second file is still processing, and has been that way for a few minutes. Hey, there it's done finally.

Not bad. It's a great tool to have for sure.

"Author: John F. Ross (Uploaded by Brokor)"

Does it put the "(Uploaded by Broker)" on when you uploaded or did you type that in?

It does that on its own.

Should be only for books, manuals and etc. that you have already downloaded from links.

I just uploaded a PDF to the "Other" category. I think we do need to include a "gardening" category.

I know that, but since I have over 100 Gigabytes of books and videos, I was wondering if I start uploading, admins might get in trouble from the Stormtroopers... You get my meaning?... WINK, WINK!

The Stormtroopers are only looking at me with my crappy internet service. You should not have any trouble uploading to this site or you will have to be put in the comfy chair!

LOL...OK...Please pay attention that I'm not American, and my hinting ain't worth sheet...I'll be blunt...If I upload books that need to be paid (copyrighted), is that going to cause legal problems to the admins or members?...Oh, heck...if I upload pirated books, are admins going to jail?... [booze]

I know that you are not American? Anything that you download will be checked by the mods before it is posted to make sure it is legal to post, so upload what you have. If they don't approve it I'll take it!

Sorry for the confusion, but the reference that I made to the comfy chair is because I thought you were referring the the 70's show Monty Python were they used the wink wink and comfy chair in their routines. I still think they are funny, below are links to them.

Bane: America is so corrupt that perfectly LEGAL acts have become illegal.

I can't speak for the mods, but "illegal" sharing isn't at the top of the list of problems from where I stand.

I just didn't want to risk to cause problems for any of you, mods or admins...
Everything I have IS illegal at your side...
OK...lets try and see what happens...

Apparently there's no progress counter on the upload page...Maybe we could use ftp clients..if technically available...ok...just went through...upload complete.
