Once again, it seems that you can do anything you want if there is no criminal intent, even if the act itself is a crime. I don't like this trend at all. So, if you are speeding and aren't actively on the lam from a bank robbery to escape arrest, you aren't liable? What crap.
This looks more like...I go to your house, I find the door open, I go to your bedroom or your daughter's room and watch her undress! Hey, I wasn't going to hurt her! No criminal intent here! Un-fracking-believable!!!!
The Inquirer is not one of my favorite sources of information, but I must say Kudos to them for this article. Fore warned is fore armed. Now consider this. Make a large sign that expresses your feelings about this so called legal spying. Something like "Frack You Pervert" or worse or more personal if you have info on who is doing the monitoring. When businesses started issuing Pagers and cell phones so they could contact their key people 24/7, I knew of people who put these devices in the refrigerator when they didn't want to be disturbed. Some appropriate measure could be taken with these laptops as well. Just be warned, and don't be stupid.
So.. schools don't need warrants.. gee.. i can see the cops asking the schools to do "warrant-less" taps for them now. W T F!!!

If I found my kid's school-supplied computer was 'spying' on him/her, I'd deliver it back to the school, camera disconnected and entire memory and HD wiped and written over. Frack THEM! The kid can bring his/her lessons home and use a 'clean' computer. Second offense, the kid goes to a new Private school. Public schools get Federal and State funding based on the number of students attending - I'd get a big group of parents to boycot that school til they flew straight. "NO dollars for YOU!"
Nah, I don't want to hurt anybody - just end the madness! Though if I found some 'forty year old virgin' at the school was gawking at MY kid in her bedroom via computer, we'd be having a good old-fashioned "Come To Jesus" meeting real quick....... He'd be begging to be arrested by the cops.....
