For those who like to start their bon fires and brush piles on fire really quick. Or just in case you want to get rid of unwanted scrap metal and turn it in to a slag heap. Good place to buy thermite kits.

uh... just a heads up -

A few years ago, the DEA set up a sting operation in which the created a bunch of phony chemical suppliers that sold only stuff related to the manufacture of methamphetamine. Orders were taken, investigations ensued.

These guys apparently sell mostly stuff related to the manufacture of explosives...

    Proceed with caution.

I buy my chemicals in relatively small batches. I make sure to have wittnesses to the legitamate use of small amounts of this stuff. I never buy combinations of chemicals at one location or in one purchase. I prefer to pay cash if possible and check for cameras before making or not making a purchase. My formulas are encrypted and safe elsewhere. I have mixed explosive for Monsanto Chemical in the past. Bring on the Black Suburbans and the alphabet soup agents, I have nothing to hide they can find, and have done nothing wrong. If and when the SHTF I will be ready. Knowledge is not illegal as of yet.

You want a thermite kit just drag a magnet down the beach. The black stuff that sticks to it is FE03, then grind aluminum with a file or even aluminum foil in a coffee grinder. There are your two components. Mix eight parts FEO3 with three parts powdered aluminum and light it with a sparkler.

I prefer napalm...keeps burning forever...soap or liquid soap and petrol...

Thanks for the good information. I have a 20' diameter pile about 8' tall of pine tree trunks and branches that have been accumulating for two years now. I thought some diesel would ignite that damp mess but the thermite would definitely give the pile a good start on burning.

Napalm doesn't burn at 8000 degrees. Napalm burns; it is fuel and relies on the rest of the triangle for combustion. Thermite is an exothermic reaction.

I know that, bur napalm burns long..thermite burns very fast

True napalm has an oxidizer in it.
The homegrown stuff made from soap/blood/foam/vaseline does not - at least I've never seen a recipe to include an oxidizer.
If you DID put in an oxidizer, it should even burn under water as true napalm will.

Can someone suggest a homegrown oxidizer? Maybe chlorine powder?

I have never used oxydizer...no need. It burns nice and long even inheavy rain. Take small bottle with you when campin, and make fire in dry or wet weather... b::

I just put the link there because it seems cool. I use these chemicals everyday when I am at work. They work as a release agent on the concrete color jobs that I do. I have at any one time around 60 to 70 pounds of the stuff lying around at the shop for up coming jobs or left over from other jobs. It is fun to see what ratio of the chemicals you can use to get the best reaction.

"Love the smell of Napalm early in the morning"--yep, as long as it is well in front of my position. Gives one a nice warm secure feeling--especially if mingled with a fleshly odor.
