was walking around wally world today and saw a hunting pack that would work for a new set up for my bug out system.

the pack its self filled with 5 mres, some oatmeal, bullion cubes, cache lake camp food (search for it really good and they have a website), 2 quart canteen, 3 liter hydration bladder, and the other odds and ends you would need for a B.O.B. also pictured is the pistol belt/on person survival kit. This belt and kit would always be on me in a SHTF kind of situation. the small gear pouch is with me where ever I go along with one of my pistols.

the pack set up with mosin nagant in the rifle holder, 90 rd battle pack in an old bandolier, and HI-point 995ts that will be in my hands.

the pistol belt and gear that is on it mosin nagant pouch holds 40 extra loose 7.62x54r rds.

Pretty solid setup. I am checking out a somewhat similar package myself, but I haven't been to the range again to further test the 995. I already have tons of equipment, and will try to incorporate as much as I can without over-doing it. Right now, I have a strictly tactical loadout and a heavy loadout, but nothing for immediate tactical/practical with the 995ts.

I was wondering, what are you using to hold that standard magazine on the stock of the rifle? Is that a custom mod?

its the mag holder that HI-point sells on their web site. It actually holds 2 extra 10 rd mags on the stock (one on each side). And with ammo this set up weighs around 55 lbs. if i ditch the mosin nagant and switch it out with my 10/22 i can get the weight down to around 35 lbs.

Veeery nice setup...Mine is more-less similar, except I'd carry M77B1 and M91 guns, and for handguns M70A and CZ99...and machete and 3 other knives...and one folder knife...

How will you get from your home to the woods? You should civilianize your BOB as much as posible. You will want to be discreet, and hide in plain view. If you already live near the woods, than it's not as much of an issue. I will have to pass through some very urban areas to get to my BOL. I cannot roam the streets all kitted out, and not draw attention..

    Exfiltration routes to consider

Railway corridors, creeks, drainage canals and easements, High tension power line easements are possible alternatives to walking down main street. Pulling a golf buggy??? "is that a 7.62mm sandblaster or a 5.56mm putter you totin'???"

Edit: Other avenues include golf courses, parkland and nature reserves, subways and water and power utility maintenance conduits, (public and private zoos and safari parks with considerable caution....potential sources of food on the hoof though....just make sure that YOU aren't the source of game feed!) Industrial areas ought be very thinly populated, but be aware of security personnel, guard dogs and obstacles...keep a pair of wire cutters and pair of bolt cutters with you.
