When the excreta hits the air mover, it is my opinion that:

Sometime early 2011 at the earliest, there will be massive bank runs. I expect that the FED and other central banks will preempt such a run and will do the following: 1) Disallow cash withdrawals from banks beyond a certain amount, say US$1,000 per day; 2) Disallow cash transactions up to a certain amount, say US$10,000 for certain transactions; 3) Transactions (investments) for metals (gold and silver) will be restricted; 4) Worst-case scenario – the confiscation of gold AS HAPPENED IN WORLD WAR II. 5) Imposition of capital controls etc.; 6) Legislations that will compel most daily commercial transactions to be conducted through Debit and or Credit Cards; 7) Legislations to make it a criminal offense for any contraventions of the above. In addition,8) it is my opinion that as we just saw in N. Carolina, a fiscal crisis will "be too good to waste"; therefore, additional firearm / ammo restrictions will be emplaced as our ability to resist, as a last means of preserving our freedom, must be eliminated by the Socialist/ Commie traitors. Make no mistake about it, Soros and his ilk are reading a new currency to replace the soon to be ruined dollar. My estimate is that we will be forced to turn in 100 old dollars and be "gifted" with 5 new currency units--- this is the Lira -Dollar- exchange rate of WW-2.

How will that work with debt? Say you owe $20,000 in todays dollars, will it be adjusted as well? Will you the owe 1000 of the new units or 20,000? Please explain.

You really think that the same system that bailed out the banks at the expense of all the US taxpayers will allow the same banks to suffer due to inflation/currency devaluation?

No way, they will pass legislation to screw the taxpayers some more,
just to keep the campaign contributions coming from the banks into their pockets.

Do not take me for a fool. I know very well that they will try. Will I comply? that 's a totally different story.

Normally, it wouldn't make difference what currency name (dollar, euro, amero, space credits...) you owe them IF the amount you owe is TIED with gold! In the case of US, where there is no cover for the green paper in gold, I'd say I agree with UGRev here! The currency they issued was bogus and non-existant, meaning, has no real value! So, I'd pay them back with old recycled toilet paper.... b::[booze]

I would also be aware of the government is after your pensions.

    Hunker down, incoming.

I suspect that by years end food prices will go ballistic, if you don't have storage food or enough I would get going now.

We have a very small survival community here in the mountains of New Mexico, we get contacted from time to time by people looking to bug out. Most haven't got a clue. My son calls them "survival Tourist", most have no idea what they are considering.
The common refrain is they don't have money for storage food or for a place or anything else they need........................but they have ATV's. 60 Plasma screen TV's a new truck etc etc etc etc etc.

We picked up a new horse yesterday, the guy who gave it to us said he could not afford the feed and stable fees. Now here is the rub, he showed up yesterday with a NEW! Dodge 1 ton diesel dullie, from what I know thats a $50K truck. Can't afford the feed and stable is quite a paradox.
The same is true for most people, they say they cannot afford storage food and live a lifestyle that is enviable, I would love to have a new 1 ton dodge ram diesel truck but if I did I would not be able to have all that we have outside the world.

    Sorry for the rant.

    Peace
    Dan

Many people think nothing of buying a pickup truck that costs as much as my house!
A friend once complained to me about not having any money, right after he had just spent $600 for a gas engine to put into his radio controlled toy car. I spent $300 for a junkyard V8 for my old 4X4 Suburban. I'm afraid that I didn't have much sympathy for his plight.

that's what I call "Feel good spending". People feel the pressure but they need a release. They need something that makes them feel good because they know, somewhere, deep down inside, that a **** storm is coming.

feel good spending is why "sin" stocks (tobaco and alcohol) do well in a "depression", also no man want his woman to look bad, so cosmetic and female clothing also does well.

You mean you guys have noticed it too? The people that complain & say they got it rough are the same ones that take days off work, leave work early, eat out, go on shopping trips, yet can hardly pay their bills. Awhile back at werk a girl went on medical leave. She had no health insurance, but all three of her kids have cellphones & her lazu hubby hadn't had a job in several years. Me with the max health insurance plan my work offers only pays $16 a week for Medical insurance. Basically these people have their priorities way out of order. Like the guy mentioned earlier, could afford a big fancy shiny new truck, yet couldn't feed his horse. Things like that yet Obamacare passes so these sorry irresponsible sobs can have free health insurance!!! When the shtf these kind of people will die off first [shtf]
