took out my high point 995ts and sighted in the red dot on it. not too shabby would have taken out the bulls eye if i had a few more rounds or would have made more drastic changes to the elevation and windage.

How do you like it? If you could get around to do a 75 meter test run, that would be the shizzle.

Questions, full, or semi? rapid or slow? position or bench? range? caliber? Inquiring minds want to know. No doubt with some minor tweaking the bull would have been gone.[applaud][applaud][applaud]It almost looks like two different calibers were shot on the same target, but that may be the photographic effect.

I love the carbine and that was a 75 yard sighting in of my red dot. it was shot in the standing, with a mix of slow and double tap fire. That particular carbine is a 9mm and does fairly well for me so far. as for the bottom target i did shoot that one a few times with my sigma .40 cal before i remembered i should take a pic, that is where the larger holes came from.

yes not bad for those eyes i wouldnt have picked up on it if it were the other way around lol. and beware if you buy one Hi Point carbine you will eventually own all 3. they are fun and since they are cheap to shoot well the story pretty much writes itself lol.

Dang, I stopped at the local gun shop and they didn't have any left. Strange thing is, some guy who had just bought a 995TS from the shop was returning it unfired just as I was browsing the store. Well, I wouldn't want that opportunity to go to waste. It must be fate. $195.00 still new. Got some reloading supplies to go with her. Will be looking for extended mags to test.

Depending on how this carbine does will present an interesting bug-out possibility. I love my Springfield XD9, and to keep all 9mm on me instead of 5.56mm or 7.62 would be great...I know I will be sacrificing some much needed velocity and firepower, so this little hi-point has quite a range test coming up. I am skeptical, but optimistic at the same time. We will see. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I will be hitting the range. I might just throw on the Barska holographic. I have that "Eotech" clone coming, too.

I say be careful with these pro mag is the only ones who make them and its a 50/50 chance of it working. i have 2 of them that work but it took me 4 tries to get those 2.

    Oh lovely.

Well, I went to the range today. Took out the AK, M4, 995, and Ruger .22 and the Springfield XD9.

I managed to get the AK sighted in with the Barska scope, which is fantastic. I Re-zeroed the Ruger and its red-dot sight since I placed a riser on it. The darn set screw for the rail came loose and I will have to reset it with locktite. Got it zeroed. Played with the M4 but ran out of ammo before I got the holo sight where I wanted it. Finally, started playing with the Hi-Point 995, and it fired well but I couldn't adjust my red-dot because I had left my adjusting allen key in the box at home. Bummer. So, I took out the Springfield and rattled off about 100 rounds.

Maybe I will take just the Hi-Point out tomorrow. With the dang allen key this time.

Yea scopes that need tools to adjust are not for me lol. I like to make adjustments for wind and range when I can thats why my scope has turrents that adjust with just my thumb nail. As for running out of ammo before finishing up a sight in on a scope I can feel your pain... Just check the pics above lol so close yet so far away lol. Got me another 300 rounds to take out this weekend and finish the job.

Ran the 995ts today, not a lot of rounds, but I will reload more and give it a final test eventually. I was just testing out the red-dot at 65 M, bench rest unassisted. I can only fire 3 rounds at a time, then reload because of the regulations at the public range in PA. I was using Winchester 115gr. range ammo and some personal loads (which weren't the specs I wanted after all).

Geez guys. I just bought the Hi-Point C9 pistol today with 200 rounds ammo, an extra 10 rnd clip and a nice soft case, tax tag title out the door $250.00. Now I have to get this monster! I really need a SHTF carbine and I think this one will allow me to go 100% 9mm, except for my remington 870!

you will like it alot. I love mine and am now working on getting up to 15 mags for it so i can have 150 rounds loaded at one time. I have 7 now only 8 more to go. I like the 9mm because if i have to shoot any farther than 150 yards im in trouble anyways ( and that is what my 91/31 is for lol).

nice shooting and if that was my range i would be looking for a new one. some places have way to many rules that are pretty useless. as long as you follow the safety rules for handling a firearm why does it matter that you have more than 3 rounds loaded. I am sorry that you have to be held back due to those rules.

<------------------ I am the Nay Sayer. Someone has to play Devil's advocate....

I think the 9mm is a poor choice in a carbine. The main reason why both the military and the vast majority of police forces moved from the 9mm sub-gun to a rifle caliber carbine was the proliferation of body armor. The 9mm will not penetrate through the most common of armors. Even your average gang- banger thugs are now using BA.

The other drawback is in power at extended ranges. The HP Carbine is a 16" carbine. If it has to be 16", why not opt for a rifle caliber? The only advantage to the 9mm was when it was available in a compact sub-gun size. My point- go SBR or go rifle caliber.

If your looking for a cheap range plinker, the High-Point will fit the build.

I tend to agree here...9mil is good for handguns and close range, but for shooting at 100 meters or more, better get something like 7,62 or 7,9mil, AK style or stronger...If you let zombies come close, you're toast... [booze]

I completely agree -however, the ability to use one type of ammo for both a pistol as well as a carbine is a valid point to consider. I love my AR and my AK, they are my first choice no matter what...but it sure is nice to have that 9mm carbine to supplement my sidearm. ;)

Sure! It would be great if you could feed same ammo to both handgun and rifle, but untill they make an AK ammo eating handgun, I'd stick with 2 or 3 types of ammo...And maybe diversity is good...Imagine Lights Out type of SHTF, you find some AK ammo, and all your guns eat only 9mil!...Suckee big time!... :D

reason i went with the carbine in 9mm was it is what i can afford at the time. I would rather be able to shoot a 9mm at an armed assailant than throwing rocks. if i want to defeat body armor I would use my mosin nagant 91/31 with steel core ammo. that ammo goes through car engine blocks so im sure it will defeat body armor.

but i do see what you are saying. I would rather have a M-4 carbine chambered in 5.45x39 due to the cheap ammo. would preform better than the 9mm in the long run.
