Anyone have an M6 scout, the .410/.22 O&U? How are they for accuracy, any good for anything other than beating nothing?

Sure do! Made by CZ. Barrels wrapped with 550 cord. No trigger guard. .22 over .410. Accuracy sucks. Ihave to use the "shotgun site" to hit the paper with the .22, but for a survival situation, they are OK. I took the trigger guard off.
They would be hard to beat for relaibility also. Single shot. Pull hammer back, pull trigger. To change barrels, you twist a knob on the top of the hammer to unlock the striker, push it down, twist it to lock it. The safety is in the middle. The "striker" on the hammer parks between the firing pins for safety. Neat little gun and I would not trade for mine. The only really bad thing is the take down pin. It would be VERY easy to loose it in the field if you took it out.

Well thanks for the info. Kind of sucks that the accuracy is that poor, I tend to figure if it wont hit where you want reliably it isnt much use. May just have to look at the Savage long gun in the same configuration, I know at least the old ones were awsome.
    BTW; welcome aboard gunnut.

some quick pics. The accuracy in mine seems fair enough. Not a tack driver but is well under 4MOA

Went to my favorite gunshop in Lake wood yesterday to get my SIG 229 out of consignment. While they were doing the background check, I strolled around the store. I found an original Springfiled M6! This one is made by Springfield and not CZ. I am thinking about picking it up! The gun is in excellent shape. This is the one with no trigger guard and the hammer does not have the safety position like the CZ version. Kind of a rare bird.

Melbo nice gun. Could you tell me what that wrap is on your 410 barrel?

    thursday,

It's just black paracord. It was like that when I bought it and I don't know about warping the barrel. I can't say for sure if it could but I honestly don't shoot rapid fire amounts of .410 through it to heat it up too much. I've always considered my M6Scout to be a last ditch survival gun and the paracord wrap makes for a nice hand hold on the lower barrel.

Nicely done on the wrap, very clean! Paracord is pretty forgiving stuff, it may melt the outer sheath slightly (make it shiny and blur the weave a bit), however the inner cord should be safe. It takes a lot of concentrated heat to melt the paracord together.

I'll be looking for one of these now. . .

Yes, as Melbo stated, you shouldn't be firing continuously so there won't be enough heat buildup to melt paracord. It's a single shot rifle.

I like that one barrel wrap melbo ... never thought of that, thanks! :) I've got to try that with one of mine. Nice carrying case too - where did ya get that if you don't mind me asking?
