Not an anti-histamine but taking a tsp of locally harvested honey daily has helped my allergies significantly. The key is locally since the bees are making using locally grown plants which are usually the very ones causing your allergic reactions. My honey comes from a beekeeper within miles of me.
I have heard this too. I am concerned about food allergies. I have develop an alergic reaction to canned tomota juice, ie V8. I notice the same problem when I eat spaghetti too. I could be the preservative that I am allergic too.
I eat honey that is harvested locally and it really made a difference when I moved here.....But very expensive...Tupelo Honey is from this area, and the price is prohibitive... If you're looking for a good inexpensive antihistamine, Walmart brand, (Equate) has benadryl, and it's ridiculously cheap.... I can't remember what it says on the bottle, but it's [FONT=arial,sans-serif][SIZE=-1]Diphenhydramine HCI 25 Mg....It's like 100 capsules for under $5 a bottle....Just makes you really drowsy, so be careful and make sure you're not driving when taking it, especially if you're not used to it... Just grow one of these plants. Lemon balm sweetflag, calamus Colt's foot jewel weed, spotted touch me not
Just remember that if you are buying pseudoephedrine in bulk, you are going to get your picture taken or as a minimum have your drivers license scanned. Meth dealers have made this occur. Careful about going in an asking for bulk drugs, it will bring suspicion, and with suspicion....... Also, going around different stores and buying moderate quantities will get you noticed as well, everyone is networked now days.
No kidding! I had my photo taken and my drivers license scanned by a druggist when I went in to buy pseudoephedrine, for all 4 of us with running noses! Then they went beserk when I had 4 different packages of cough, cold and flu meds you mix in hot water! I asked them if they wanted me to sneeze on them, or bring the rest of the sick back with me... They gave me my stuff! Reminds me of a boss I had once in Snobsdale Az, he was po'd at me for being sick, for 2 days, so I kissed the sucker full on the lips! That fixed his wagon! He was out sick for a week! I thought he'd die! The look on his face was better than making the jerk sick! ( Ok, so I'm weird!)
Well, there's a difference....pseudoephedrine is a decongestant, and benadryl is an antihistamine....and he's right. Because of all the Meth being made, the former is getting almost impossible to get without giving your life history....
There are different antihistamines, and people rect differently to them due to individual body chemistries. As CRC stated, generic diphenhydramine (Benadryl) is widely effective and cheap. It is also extremely sedating for many people. Another option is chlopheniramine maleate 4mg (Chlor-Tabs) - about the same price, under $3- for 100 tabs. Chlorpheniramine also sedates some people - but others like me can take it without getting drowsy.
Where you buying it in bulk at?? 75 pills of Sudafed 12hour is enough to meet the 9 gram monthly purchase limit under Ohio law.
Yep, Momma (an RN) was in town, a while ago, and wanted to get our annual stock of pseudoephedrine. Went to the Pharm, and cripes, they want her Drivers License, fingerprint, and left digit of our First Born, for two small boxes. I mean REALLY... To Dang many Meth Chemists, I guess.... Anyway we ordered our bulk supplies, from our Companies Drug Wholesaler, NORMED. It took a while longer to get but it is now on the shelf. the State just can't trust anyone, anymore.... Next they will be limiting Robatussen....
I'm one of the lucky 10% or so that Benadryl doesn't make sleepy. Thankfully! Because my hay fever is terrible when the pollen is flying. I still get the sneezes but at least it dries me up. It also saves me from being photographed and fingerprinted by the damn gestapo every week. I do pick up some pseudo-ephedrine for when I have a really bad allergy attack because it does actually help reduce the histamine response. Byte
