Went out today shooting and tried some of these slugs today and they are great. Shot some shale pieces and it disintegrated them. Also shot an old 5 gallon propane tank. It puts a silver dollar size hole going into the tank and 3 ragged holes going out in a 5 inch diameter circle. Anything hit in the torso would be history. Only bad thing, like all heavy slugs, they kick like a you know what. The site says that when the slug breaks up it is like 3 160 grain 3006 rounds, more like 3 160 grain pistol rounds at the 1500 muzzle velocity. Not knocking the rounds, since when first being hit it is 500 grains of lead that breaks up into 3 pieces.

Brenneke 12 Gauge 2.75" K.O. 1 oz. Deer Slug with attached wad.

The literature claims a muzzle velocity of 1600 feet per second and a muzzle energy of almost 2500 foot pounds. At 50 yards it retains a velocity of almost 1200 feet per second and energy of about 1400 foot pounds. Brenneke states that "...optimum sighting-in distance (is) 91 yards..."

    They work pretty well.

I have those too but think of them as a deer/bear round and the Quik-Shok as more of a anti zombie round. Regular slugs over penetrate on 2 legged varmints and do not dump all the energy into them. These rounds have multiple wound channels, 1 entrance and 3 exiting that spread out while going through and expend most of the energy within the body without over penetration. Either one and your screwed, but the Quik-Shok has a better probability of hitting vital organs.

I handload my own hard cast .662 roundballs and I'm going to be making tri ball .60 cal loads with my own cast balls in the future. Have to get set up, first

    Factory Tri Balls:

    How to roll your own:

My own tri-ball buck loads. - Family, Friends, Firearms

Those factory slugs and tri balls are no doubt effective but outrageously priced. I like to put away such items by the 1K cases x 2 or 3 if I'm even going to bother, and that would be impossible for me with factory

Also, can the disintegrating slug penetrate like an M855 62 grain 5.56 penetrator? My .662 balls do..

Not this manufacture, but there are probably others that have something similar in 20.
