"The past is another country. They do things differently there." Indeed. Back in America, there could never have been a grotesque spectacle such as we saw last night in Tuscon. I used to live in America, and I know how it's done. In America, we watched Reagan say farewell to the Challenger crew, with dignity, class and genuine feeling. That was then, and now is later than you think. You're in another country. Rather than pay respect to victims of a tragedy, an opportunistic narcissist flew across the country to drink in the adulation of his acolytes. They can tweet about it: Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. We're in Post America now, and that was a roomful of Post Americans. This is the predictable (and desired) effluent of generations of liberalism - public education, pop culture and moral relativism. These people are incapable of paying respect because they're incomplete. Their minds are unfurnished. They're not citizens, and what we saw isn't America. This is also a symptom of the perversion of our language. Respect has a very different meaning to these savages than it does to us. They're mad that their messiah has been disrespected, and they showed up to even the score with their worship. It's the American Idol mentality, living down to their messiah.
I thought so too, made me almost sick to watch it. He cant make it to Arlington to pay respects on Memorial and Veterans day, but he sure dont mind bringing them up for use as a political opportunity moment.
All the politicizing of the Tuscon mass murder brought me really low. It was the first time in my life I've ever been ashamed of not only being American, but human as well. Maybe it's always been this messed up and I just never noticed before...either way I know I've been taking it all personally, but I've decided I don't want to be the kind of person who doesn't really care. Apathy doesn't accomplish anything. And I think things need to change.
I could NOT watch Mr. Pres. do his Campaign style Memorial Service, and for HIM, to pull that STUNT, about the Congresswoman Opening her Eyes for the FIRST Time, when "He" was there, Well that is just BEYOND, Crass.... My Opiniuon, and YMMV...
O's statement that she opened her eyes for the first time while he was there is BS! Below is an article today about Gifford's progress; Rep Gabrielle Giffords Communicating With Family Recovery By: Kara Gilmour Staff Writer Published: Jan 14, 2011 Rep Gabrielle Giffords communicating with family. Rep Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona has been communicating with her family during recovery. The Congresswoman has opened her eyes and is still recoverying. Giffords is showing remarkable recovery and is communicating with her family and friends. Doctors say she opened her eyes one evening in response to a television playing during President Obama's Arizona speech at the university. The Congresswoman is breathing on her own. "Her family has asked her very specific things, and she has used her hand to communicate with them," Dr. Michael Lemole, a neurosurgeon at Tucson's University Medical Center, said in a statement. Lemole is one of the surgeons who operated on Giffords after she was shot in the head Saturday morning. Lemole also said he was there when Giffords first opened her eyes Wednesday evening in the presence of family members and some of her colleagues from Congress. "It was probably a combination of the unexpected but familiar that prompted her to open her eyes and caused her to look around. That implies that the part of the brain that let lets us awake from sleeping, the arousal center," he said. "That's a very important step on her move forward." <!-- google_ad_section_end --><SCRIPT type=text/javascript><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-7147431955542395"; /* 336x280, created 8/23/10 */ google_ad_slot = "2361949436"; google_ad_width = 336; google_ad_height = 280; //--> </SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" type=text/javascript> </SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/r20101117/r20110113/show_ads_impl.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT>google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);</SCRIPT> <SCRIPT src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/r20101117/r20110113/show_ads_impl.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/test_domain.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/render_ads.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/render_ads.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT>google_protectAndRun("render_ads.js::google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);</SCRIPT><SCRIPT>google_protectAndRun("render_ads.js::google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);</SCRIPT> <SCRIPT src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/r20101117/r20110114/show_ads_impl.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/test_domain.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/render_ads.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/render_ads.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT>google_protectAndRun("render_ads.js::google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);</SCRIPT><SCRIPT>google_protectAndRun("render_ads.js::google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);</SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/render_ads.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT>google_protectAndRun("render_ads.js::google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);</SCRIPT><SCRIPT>google_protectAndRun("render_ads.js::google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);</SCRIPT><SCRIPT>google_protectAndRun("render_ads.js::google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);</SCRIPT>
The "Another Country" quote is from L. P. Hartley, as quoted in Jeff Cooper's book "Another Country". The term "Post American" was stolen from Rush Limbaugh. The rest is mine. Why did you ask?
I have never seen a memorial affair that was turned into a pep rally before. I thought it would be a somber and reserved occasion as it should have been. I didn't watch the whole thing. The clapping and cheering when their heads should have been bowed down in prayer was too much for me.
I could only get through about a quarter of the kenyan puppet's speech before my stomach just couldn't take anymore........ God, please help us to get through two more years of this simpering buffoon.
It was about celebrating the life of those lost not mourning of the dead. A message of hope. Nuff said
Presidential cover-up? Obama doesn't dye his grey hair, his barber insists - it's just how I cut it | Mail Online Maybe he gave up using "Just for men"
Oh yeah right Thats the way he cuts it, yeah every time I get my hair cut my grey automatically dissapears.......BULLBUTTER, the cheif a$$hole in charge died his hair but thats not the point. I didnt even watch any of the memorial because I knew what he would do..............He simply turned into a Pep rally for that worthles pile of defications campaign.
Typical Black Church Sermon No surprsise to me what-so-ever about the ceremony ...... the majority of the attendees couldn't give a rat's ass about the murder/shooting victims ..... they came to see the Big O ....... have you ever seen a black church service? ...... it's a miracle that a dance party doesn't break out next to the jazz band
