What do you all consider as essential supplies for the bathroom? When I think of "bathroom supplies", I think of two categories:

    1. Toilet articles: soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc.
    2. OTC meds: aspirin, Tylenol, etc.

I recently tried my hand at lists. It's a daunting task that made me think.... which was a good thing for me. I had conditioner on my initial list. I've tried washing my hair without using conditioner for a week now and found I could live without it so I took it off my list. It's one of those things someone has to try going without to see if they could eliminate it or not though. Our teeth are really close to our brains so you might want to add toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and some sort of a mouthwash that could be use sparingly. The biggie you might be overlooking but maybe not would be a stash of feminine hygiene products. A product that a friend of mine recommended was a Diva Cup, Home - The DivaCup, an innovative menstrual cup the best alternative to Tampons and Pads. I'm just tossing that out because it's a product I'd never heard of before. It looks like it could totally eliminate women having to purchase traditional products.
I'm still working on my first aid/OTC list. I think I've got mine in good shape save a few odds and ends: Immodium, Benadryl, QuickClot, and a new Rx for an epi-pen.
Many well wishes from me to you working on your lists. Gosh they're hard!!!

Actually, I'm not overlooking feminine products in my case because the baby factory closed down a couple of years ago. :) But for other women, they would be a biggie!

Edited to add: Oops, you're right; I DID forget toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss!!

Lurkers> here's more on that Diva Cup, Diva Cup Review: Going Green On A Personal Level. | The Good Human. I'm gagging at all the tampons and kotex sent to landfills not to mention the money that could have been saved if this product had had a higher profile say just 30 years ago.
allyn211> Don't feel bad about the toothbrushes... I just did lists so it stuck out to me is all. Besides which.... there are days I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached... for other days.... there's friends and my hand. I jot down quick notes on my hand because I can't lose it.
Really glad you joined and you're asking questions. I don't feel like I'm the only one trying to sort things out for myself any more.
ghrit> they're good in a pinch for "depends" moments too.

i agree with alot of the things on the list such as the OTC drugs, dental care, some heigine products. I however dont think perfume and razors are nessesities. sure they make life easier and things smell nicer but do you NEED them?

I think that they are like Candy and spices not necessary but will give you a sembelance of normality for your mental health in times of stress...

A sence of Normality is whats needed in that shtf situation. I mean anything that can and will keep your moral up is actually a good thing. Think about it, I mean you don't need books lying around taking up valuable space for food storage, but many people put books in there just for the sence of some normality. What good is any preps if your your just going to die from bad moral and your stuff just sits there and rots, or someone else comes along and gets it.

Add witch hazel, peroxide, and 91% alcohol. Cloves for toothaches and colloidal silver for cuts etc. Maxi pads [overnight] with wings are not only good for the ladies but will also stop bleeding for large wounds.

The witch hazel sounds like a good idea. I admit, though, that the first thing I thought of when I saw that was Witch Hazel from some of the old Bugs Bunny cartoons!

What is collodial silver and where do you get it?

There was quite some discussion on cs here a while ago. I just did a site search on "colloidal" and a bunch of threads showed up. Suggest you do that rather than me trying to round them all up and link them here. (If you search on "colloidal silver" you get everything with "silver" in it.)
There are folks that swear it's the best thing since applesauce, and others that swear at it. YMMV.
