View attachment stove.bmp I've burned wood for heat for years, It is the only heat I have in the house and I now burn 25-40% less wood. It is a home made stove,(by a professional welder) my cousin. Mixture of 3/16 and 1/4 in. steel, fully lined with firebricks. Over the last 20 years he has made a dozen of them. As of yet none have failed. The fresh air is supplied low in the burn chamber where combustion needs to occur. Once it burns down stir the ash and coals to the air supply pipes, you will get another 4-6 hours of good heat production and have very little residue (ash) to remove. The fan behind the stove helps move heat throughout the house, about 1300 sq. ft. Keeps the place at a toasty 72. He built the stove, I lined it with firebrick. They cut easier than you would think. Used a chop saw with a masonry blade, perfect fit. I've been told that this stove is a similar design that a company named Tempwood Co. makes or made. They (Tempwood) are in North Adams Mass. I'm getting older and cutting firewood doesn't have the same appeal as it did when I was 20 or so. Semper Paratus
