First for some trial runs in other countries, then work the bugs/kinks outta it. then us. Egypt: Internet down, police counterterror unit up | General Headlines | Comcast.net
Proved. The Goobermint of Egypt issued the order and within an hour Egypt was off the interwebs. Egypt’s Internet Kill Switch: Coming To America
We may need to rely upon the "BubbaNet" - that chain of CB radios that all good rednecks have. Also, a good series of young 'runners' working in the "Tell-a-redneck" communications system. They can carry written messages, for the more advanced Bubba neighborhoods....... My closest BubbaNet buddy is some seven miles away - no sweat!
Egypt is a true SHTF situation, watch and learn comparing it to Katrina, there isn't much difference of what is happening. Aren't we glad we prepare! I'm going out in the country today to build some more box gardens and learn how to run and shoot accurately.
I walked into an electronics store and asked the little girl clerk if they had CB radio's cause the one in my truck broke, She did not even know what they were **** I feel old
Internet down: First serious sign that if you're not prepared for SHTF, you're already screwed. I know there's been talk about 'Net Neutrality' by our 'oh so wise and benevolent' leaders, and I didn't think it's logistically possible to monitor all USA-based internet activity on a 24/7 basis, yet I've noticed lately that Facebook asks me to constantly login again when I go to post even barely political comments, even if I just did, and the other day I had trouble getting to the forum here.
If you want to buy a cb radio, go to the nearest large truck stop. Should have no problems there If you do buy one, try and get an ssb cb radio, as it has about 3 times the normal chanels and will get you into places the average person won't be able to hear
This is Good advise.... Just a NOTE Here, the SSB versions will also cost you three times as much, HOWEVER, they are much more efficient, for Battery Power expended, per Talk Time, and Range, than a Standard AM version CB Radio.
