    Good crafting Effort

It looks well crafted. It would also make a very serviceable "possibles" container if waterproofed.

Very cool. There is a half finished one at the swap meet that I think I might pick up on the cheap and finish. It's been there for months, so my chances are good for a steal.

    Keeping Your Powder Dry

Yes, I have heard that expression before, however, not all aesthetically crafted objects are necessarily practical for the purposes that such objects are usually used for.

    Very attractive work.

Rain is probably the main concearn, which is good enough for its designed purpose. It looks very attractive as a work of art. I presume that the powder horn has some means of attachment to a belt or a shoulder type sling for carrying.

  12. I have made a few in the past.

My favorite one has been "scraped" so thin that I can see the powder through it. A delicate thing, but I read about it in some diary from the long hunters era and decided if they did it , i would try it the same way.

Can see how much powder is in the thing, but I fear I'll break it so it is mostly a show piece. My main one is a plain one that is fairly thick.

I just put the powder I plan on using for that bush loaf into it from a cannister of BP. Have a few from a while back.

so if I want to take ten shots and plan on throwing 70 grains of bp then I put a bit over 700 grains in the horn, and grab 10 balls n such.

Yours is very nice to look at thanks for sharing

    Thad.
