    That is the coolest invention I have seen in a while! I wonder how much it costs to make one? Would make a great small business if there isn't some stupid government regulation in the way.

    That's actually pretty cool. It is a nice idea since it fully compliments additional solar/wind powered homes and would even be a great idea for all the other colonial energy hogs.

    I will have to get pictures from him (I want to see it!) And find out how much it cost him.

    I didn't watch the vid but it looks like the design for Cansolar out of canada. Advertised and discussed a lot in mother earth and other such mags.

    I looked at these quite a bit. He sells them for upwards of $2,000.00 but they seem to work pretty well. I thought about making them from copper pipe, as they would be much easier to work with, and also I think much more efficient in the long run.

    I was thinking the same thing with the copper pipe set up with 12.volt fan system to move the area air around the place if it was beening used inside a building ..The only problem i see is how to get the whole thing tamper proof without alot of mods to it and the mount to keep someone from trying to steal it ..

    I believe the advantage of aluminum over copper is the speed of heat transfer, aluminum being much faster

    My way of thinking ,was to first get it all soldered together, then painting it all flat black , before putting the glass over the top. Whould be a pretty warm system. I can't work with aluminum like I can copper.

    The difference in prices of basic materials, should lead most to the Aluminum Cans over ANY copper based system. Aluminum Cans can be had for free to very cheap. Copper is going thru the roof, just like most SMP and PMs. The cans do NOT have to be soldered or welded together, they just have to be sealed, end to end, in an air tight tube. This can be accomplished with a Silicone Sealer. In this configuration, each can becomes a Air Heating Chamber. A small 12 Vdc Brushless DC Fan can be used to put a small positive pressure into the Cold Side header, which will move plenty of BTUs collected into the heated area.
