well, almost, put a Cetme .308 on lay-a-way, in good shape with 5 xtra mags of various capacities and 400 rnds of ammo. crown is good, rifling is like new, bolt face good....checked it out, sales people can get a little nervous with a firearm torn apart on the counter...hee hee. $325 + tax. Not really familiar with this rifle but it felt really good to me. Good deal? It aught to fit in with my other .308s, hope they don't get jellous.
Nahhh, guns aren't like women, you can have as many as you can afford..they won't ask you if they look fat, either.
Quite a good deal, in fact. You should be happy for that find, especially with the ammo to go with it. I made a similar deal myself, only I got a stockpile of mags with the ammo. CTD has them for .99 cents each, too.
Heh. Ask Charlie Sheen about how many you can have/afford. (He did get some, ah, "noise" from them. My M1 has NEVER spoken to me like that.)
If the bolt ain't ground and she functions well, good deal! They are going for a lot more these days...... My CETME will be one of the last guns I'll ever get rid of, when either it or I am totally worn out!
Great deal the best I have seen around here was 600. If you look on gun broker you can find mag $2-2.50 each in 36 mag lots. I split a lot purchase with a friend and got 19 functional mags out of 20 for $40.
Excellant deal, even if you have eventually rebuild the rifle you have saved yourself a ton of money, if you can do that.
Is it a Century Arms? My dad has one and I hate it. Disassembly and cleaning are a pain. Getting the rollers to pop in so the bolt will slide home takes a nice solid whack. I'd almost take a poodle shooter over a cetme. Have seen a few 'worst gun you've ever owned/shot' threads and the Century Arms cetme ranks very high on all of them. Parts are hard to get a hold of. Most G3 parts are compatible. Most of the fire control parts aren't. Glad it's not mine. All that said, that sounds like a decent deal provided it's in newish condition. Hell 500rnds of decent .308 will run you about $260 anyway. If the ammo is decent I'd buy the package and sell the rifle... Byte
Nice buy.. Good deal on the price. I have a late CAI build and love it. Have to disagree with privious poster...I find the cetme very easy to take down and put back togather. Also, parts are cheap and plentful(for now) Check these links: Cetme/HK - Militaryfirearm https://www.apexgunparts.com/index.php/cPath/23 Cetme Parts! BTW... We need some pics!
I also find take-down and reassembly quite simple..... Pull the pins, pop off the buttstock, drop the trigger pack, slide out the bolt&carrier...... Voila! Swab her out good, a light lubing, Bob's yer uncle!
I love my CETME. I just got back from sighting in the new scope, and it took me a few extra rounds to get her on bullseye since I was in such a rush to get to the range I forgot to boresight it, lol... I bought a claw mount (UTG $20), knowing full well it wasn't going to stay on the rifle...only the expensive original HK mounts will fit properly, but I had a lot of extra JB Weld sitting around, so...hey, in a SHTF scenario, we have to think on our feet -I'm not going for any popularity contests, I just need FUNCTIONAL. I painted the weld, and it looks pretty decent. It will get the job done!
