O.k. My sister lives in Texas and the neighbor feeds and takes care of a bunch of feral cats... She has a garden and mentioned all the cat poop in there and I suggested ground pepper... here's her response... Any other suggestions? Other than the obvious?...

she just emailed me and told me they leave dead mice in the yard and driveway too.... they have dogs but doesn't seem like its been a help...

    Anyway... here's what she said...

"Thanks for the tip...we've actually tried black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic, citrus, moth balls, borax detergent and spent several hundreds of dollars to replace mulched areas in the front yard with lava rock...nothing has worked...they actually poop right on the rock...and they have also pooped on the roof, which is gross because when it rains it falls on the patio and sidewalks...I've also tried talking to the neighbor, but to no avail."

Yup... that was the obvious solution...[beer]

Looking for any natural repellents etc...

Although that solution brought a smile to my face[beer]

I also read that someone used whole pine cones as mulch - cats avoided it completely. Not much help for the roof but okay for the garden

Y'all ever notice how cats are scarce in Vietnamese and Chinese neighborhoods?
    .
barbequed chicken satay on a skewer anyone?
    .
If talking to the neighbors is no help, tossing the cat poop over their fence seems perfectly okay to me, as is hanging cb shot dead cats on the fence.

Au contraire mon ami. Slingshots and ball bearings, crossbows with blunt tipped bolts, silenced firearms, 22 rifles with cb caps are all very effective deterents if not terminal solutions.

I wonder how well tuna fish and rat poison mixed in a cuisinart might work?

Good idea with the chicken wire. Good for birds pooping on your car, or lawn furniture. Our cat started going every where, and she turned to have a bladder infection. Feral cats are probably sick with it too.
We went down to Brownsville to see some family, and went out on the deck to see the moon. We got to smelling crap, and came back in and had it all over us. They did it every where! LOL. We had to sit there with a towel wrap while they washed our clothes.

    UGRev Get on with it!

I'd go with chicken wire. I wrapped mine with 3-4 foot high CW and I never had a problem with wild-life.

Didn't Want to Hear the Obvious !!!!!!!!!

If you read the original posting they DIDN'T want the OBVIOUS ..... being killing or hurting the cat ....... its also easy to napalm the entire neighboorhood for that matter .......

feral cats that have found a reliable food source will come back no matter what you attempt to do. How do i know? Neighbor has been feeding barn cats with dinner scraps for years.

You might try to use a live trap and relocate. But what you gonna do with it when you catch it?

I've tried: sling shot, paint ball, snow balls, apple on a stick. made contact but they keep coming back.

It comes down to a mineral deficiency. I've found that the feral felines have had a lack of plumbous-82. Administering that will definitely solve the issue.

or i have no experience with this product other than it looks promising

Coleus Canina "scardy cat" plant. I hear they don't like the smell. Have her check her local garden center or she can get it online.

Burn the neighbor's house down = no more food source.
