The world is mad except me and thee

My mother, sage woman that she is...often quotes the folk saying...."everyone in the world is mad....except thee and me....and I'm not quite sure about thee....." No....you are not crazy. Just keep doing what you are doing and in preparing for the the credible emergencies and disasters that may potentially befall you, you will be well on the way to being prepared for the incredible ones.

Another saying that comes to mind is "winners are grinners and the rest can just please themselves". Substitute preppers for winners, when SHTF, the outcome is pretty much the same.

if you have to question your sanity, chances are you're pretty sane. I think a great majority of this country is, without question, clueless.

I've done all three... admitedly the earthquake wasn't much but i did live through both Fran and Floyd here in NC, Tornados here in NC and in OK... I did have preps but not extensive ones and we did worry a bit when Floyd keep all water out for 3 weeks...

Many of my "Long term Friends" KNOW that I am Loony, as I choose to live so far out, but just accept it as a "Chosen Lifestyle" We do not talk much about "My Preps" as they do not have "context" to make that conversation relevant to them. This even includes my two Partners. I do not proselyte the Prep'er Lifestyle. The same as I do not proselyte my Religious views. I certainly would engage in conversations, on BOTH, and anyone ASKING, would then have the required "context" to make such a conversation worth my time. My Policy is simple. "I do NOT push my views on ANY Human, and I will NOT ALLOW any Human to push their Agenda on Me". That is why I LOVE the Monkey site. Folks that show up here, do so because their Eyes have been, or are now, OPEN, and they now have that "context" to make the conversations relevant to them.

I think that it is sad but true that most of the 1st world citizens have their head in the sand.

I would say that the rest of the world is already living what we would deem surviving. (literally IN the sand)

I don't talk prepping philosophy with many people due to the storm of misinformation out there. You either feel the wrongness of where we are going or you don't. Thus I dig another posthole and prep.

People mocked and laughed at Moses for 120 yrs while he built the ark.
They died scratching and begging to get in as the rains fell.
I see it as Natural and Spiritual selection.

BAT1.... Either you have your Old Testament Prophets mixed up, or there is something wrong with my glasses.... My Bible says, the Guy who built the ARK, was Noah, and Moses was the fellow, who led the Children of Israel, out of Egypt. .....

Unfortunately, I think it's us that has our head in the sand. News from outside the US is pretty spot on while we get the watered down version from anchormen who wear makeup.

The elite Zionists love turning everything upside down, making an ordinary lifestyle look like insanity, and then marketing decadence and shallow fashion as hallmarks to be revered and cherished.

Nothing is ever what it seems.

We are the future. The rest will receive only what they deserve. Call it karma, fate, or a stroke of luck --only the prepared will survive catastrophe.

An old saying comes to mind. "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst". Unfortunately while we seem to take that phrase to heart, most live by the modern adage of "Hope for the best, prepare for the Fantastically Awesome!!!"

If my school scripture classes taught me right....I think it was Noah and his incestuous family that built the ark and repopulated the world made desolate by a loving God. But, being a poor benighted apostate....I may have remembered incorrectly.

Survival in a TEOTWAWKI scenario will be pretty much a case of Darwinian natural selection....adapt or perish. Preparing for hard times before they happen is one aspect of adaptation to hardship. The unprepared, are more likely to have fewer options open to them than the prepared.

IMO, although it includes the Zionists; there are a lot more than just the Zionists.

In a catastrophe, no one has an absolute guarantee of survival....some of the prepared will perish....some will not.....some of the unprepared will perish....some will not. Which proportion of each class of catastrophe participants that will survive is a matter of conjecture, but as a generalisation, the prepared will probably have better choices and more opportunities than those that are not....but it can also be said that an unprepared person who is adaptable, is cunning and has a useful suite of life skills, may have just as much chance of survival as a dude who's nuclear fallout shelter is brimmed full of goodies but is less adaptable and adroit at negotiating situations that require quick thinking and creative problem solving.

I have become an "isolationist" and try not to even have conversations with those that wear rose colored glasses, refuse to open their eyes, or ears.
Some say that makes me an "anti-social", fine... I'm ok with that!
It's not that I don't like people, it's just that way too many are drunk from the kool-aid. And then there are the dangerous types.....Yeehaw!
I don't fall into a category anymore, but I'm sure someone, somwhere, has a place to put me in! ( padded cell comes to mind!)

As I dig around in this realm and look rather that ask I find there are more prepared people out there than most think. Like being a christian many find it easier to have a belief that to share it. But again once a bit of bait is dangled they open up and talk to you about what they are doing. While I have always been a paranoid once I got into actual prepping I was surprised that a lot of people where I live have similar views.

As to padded calls how many current world leaders spent time in jail cells?

At work, the subject usually comes up after a blizzard or ice storm. Judging by their comments there are a lot of people who have little if anything. Here there are also people who live at the "end of the line" for the power company and are close to last on the list and a lot better prepared.
Same as others we live here for the beauty, solitude, long distance views and the road which can have shtf status.
As I yak with others with similar interests my interest in shooting isn't a secret. Although I am not paranoid, I don't volunteer the FAL, AR, AK, etc are plural.
