What New Vaccine??? A useful vaccine to treat the worst effects of religion and faith has been available from at least as long ago as "The Enlightenment"....it is called evidence based reason....the pity is that so few people avail themselves of it.
There have always been doubters, scoffers, and sceptics. One of the two hanging beside Jesus was one. The religious PTB hated Jesus, the "way", and believers. They posed a threat to their grasp of power over the people, their supply of goods and money, and their actual piety. No longer was a priest needed to communicate to God, Jesus (the Messiah-prophisied one) opened the temple to all who would call upon Him by rending the curtain seperating the holy of holies(where God was, traditionally) from the rest of the temple. No longer were sacrifices needed and blood shed on the altars--Jesus supplied the spotless and sinless offering for all who would ask. Prophets had fortold of His arrival, how it would happen, and his death/burial/resurection hundreds of years prior. Upon His resurection He was witness by many and when He assended there were hundreds present. News of these events spread like wildfire across the Mediterrian Sea and multiple thousands believed as those who witnessed spread the good news. Opposition was so intense as many were imprisoned, tortured, and killed that the church went underground and/or moved away from Jewish strongholds. Antioch became an enclave of believers and were first called Christians there. Still the Jews pursued them with a vengence. It took nearly 300 years before Christianity was fully recognized as a true religion and posed no threat to the Roman Empire (who ruled the "world" at that time). Even today the Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah and are still waiting for Him. Even today there are those outside any organized or any religious affiliation at all who scoff, belittle, and even hate those who do believe and follow Jesus's teachings and those of the Bible. Scoffers are nothing new and "froth at the mouth" at every opportunity they can trying to decry someone who loves them much more than they love themselves. They are to be loved still no matter how obnoxious their beratings become. At some point Jesus may turn away from them and turn them over to a reprobate mind. That is a horrible situation to be in and one I do not want to see any slip into. We need to chose very carefully our words.
so why dont they find the brain centers that make people lazy, greedy, selfish and want to be politicians and lawyers then create a vaccine to stop those evils????
TWO individuals does NOT a valid test make. How many were in his test pool? Could some other totally unrelated factor be responsible for the 'differences' in brain activity and effect on this 'gene'? Way too little info here to base any real discussion on. If they can 'cure' religious expression, how about 'curing' homosexuality? How about curing drunkeness, or rowdy behavior? Just as valid examples of things that can't be 'cured' by a Magic Inhaler.......... Or hey, let's cure "Right Wing Fundmentalism"! THAT would be a boon to the current administration and the New World Order. Wonder how many milions were wasted on this 'study'.......?

I read the purported interview with the "elusive fugitive", Joey Lambardy, and quite frankly the dialogue looked like something between a rip off of a rejected script from the X Files, and a deleted scene from The Men Who Stare at Goats. I have yet to watch the Youtube clip, but will do so this evening, but quite frankly, it appears prima facie that the FunVax is just a hoax. As far as America and a number of other countries are concerned, politicians often rely on religious voters to get elected...and that applies to both ends of the political spectrum...I doubt that politicians would want to deny themselves a demographic that can be reliably exploited to get them into office. I was vastly relieved when I looked at the FunVax site listed in the OP, that humanity wasn't going to be innoculated against joyful pleasure, though I dare say that some religious puritans might feel that such an idea might not be entirely unmerited. Edit: I have looked at the Youtube clip, and quite frankly it doesn't look particularly convincing. Unless there is some independant corroboration from a reputable source there is no reason to believe that the clip is any more than a fake. The power point images on the screen of graphs and brains could well have been photoshopped, and the whole thing staged in a university or college lecture hall. What the clip may be is a bit of viral marketing ala Blair Witch Project, or perhaps a film and television school class project. My eldest son was a film and television school student and his class did class projects not too dissimilar in style and technical competency. For all we know...the video clip was actually Bill Gates pitching Windows Vista...but voiced over with conspiracy theory garbage.
brevity vs prolixity I'm not sure whether you are referring to my replies to several posts that were, in the main, relevant to the OP or -06's potted catechism of the Christian faith, which was not directly relevant. If referring to my post, yours is a refrain that is shared by others who sometimes find that what I have to say is unpalatable to their sensitivities.

I did a google search on the syubject and everything seems to point to this one clip... nothing in any of the journals where most scientists would publish their findings... not saying that there may not be some truth in this but like Chell i'm skeptical... YMMV

There are certainly some non-mainstream sects that can be quite violent - but that is a matter for the Law Enforcement folks and the courts, not some idiot mad scientist liberal whacko trying to remake mankind as HE wishes..... Even if it were possible.
Absolutely, but this isn't just a "Christian" issue. There are non-mainstream sects in ANY, and ALL groups, categories, and labels, that can, and will, be violent, for any number of reasons. I include myself, if sufficiently provoked. I am a lot calmer, about these things, now that I am an "Old Fart" HOWEVER in my younger days, I could easily be provoked, and had a very Short Fuse, which on occasion got me in trouble. It was a major flaw, in my upbringing, that took years to correct. Mostly it was cured, by the LOVE of a Good Woman, and I thank my Maker, every day, for that wisdom, and that Lady. ..... YMMV...
