Well, I am going to apply for my CCW Permit today. For some unknown reason, I am nervous. Haha. Now i know what a virus feels like under a microscope.
Remember slave --DO NOT give reason to have your license revoked. Before carrying, it is always wise to take a CCW course, particularly when it comes to each individual state (being a little different). Know the law, know your rights, and stay safe.
Your preaching to the choir here, even though I know you never would (church wise). Just have to blend in until the time is right.
Brokor and MM, Appreciate the comments. No offense taken from any of them. Brokor I feel where you are coming from. We all make some concessions in our lives. I would rather not have my wife and daughter visit me in prison to tell me how much they appreciate the stand I took against infringement of the second amendment. The class i took as well as the "fee" I had to pay is a small price to pay for the ability to protect my family and my castle, long term.
Is that what's got you all frazzled, Mountainman? I'm not religious? Jeezes people. For a minute there I thought I typed the wrong combination of words, some folks need to lighten up around here and lay off. Thanks Bull. Take care.
When the time truly comes to 'defend the Second Amendment', among others and the entire Constitution, the PTB will have already outlawed the CCW nationwide. Don't mean squat - we'll fight for Right and our Rights, not thuggery-mandated 'laws'....... Still, I do need to get it myself, to be able to legally defend myself until the day they drop all pretense at Freedom....... then NO paper will be necessary to USE one's God Given Rights.
Go ahead and get it, you'll need it for now to be legal. The 2nd A should have already covered this, but .goob always has to put their control on everyone. I have the OR and UT (non resident) permits and can carry in 34 states.
HuntinBull, You'll be fine. I on the other hand have a different worry. The dude in my basement (Father-In-Law) want to take CCW classes this fall. this is the same one that has blown holes in my barn, can't hit a opossum at 10 yards, shot out a window and blown up a rain barrel with a 20 gauge single shot. And now he wants a pistol? I just hope he fails the class (crossing fingers) or the wife can keep him busy working around the farm that he won't have time to take the classes. Otherwise I might have to lay down the law around here.
Well buckeye, it's about time, you being a hunting and fishing instructor. Any idea about how long they will take for the processing of your application. Heck, for years I carried up there without a CCW. But, of course that was multiple decades ago before I left the state for warmer climates. Here in Florida where along with the NRA we wrote the the first shall issue CCW law for law abiding citizens, when I first applied for a CCW, I was still active duty Navy, and had just been examined with that said same microscope by the feds for a top secret clearance so I could work on a nuke weapons delivery system. The state of Florida stated up front that the application process could take up to 90 days. I think they made me wait 81 or 84 days .... I know they almost ran the clock out. I have renewed a few times and am valid still. Will be until I die. It's a good law, if there is such a thing. It sure beats the way they did things before! You will get yours soon. Be patient.
give him a pellet gun and set him up a range in the backyard tell him when he can hit 10 for 10 at close to max range then he can take classes....lol
Your father in law ..... Barney Fife, should only carry empty firearms with no bullets, no not even one in his shirt pocket, until the SHTF, and then not until all family members have donned body armor with hard plates, helmets, first aid kits have been distributed, and then as you batten down the bunker, you push him out the door, toss him a box of cartridges, slam and lock the door and say a prayer for him and your family.
What to be nervous about ? I thought Ohio was a "shall issue" state ? Meaning; unless there is something in your personal history to classify you as a "prohibited person" you're GTG.
Just a general angst. I get background checked to teach the hunter ed classes, so should be no problem. Just hate dealing with bureaucrats. I don't trust them. I was told it usually takes 7-10 days. They have up to 45 days though.
I understand. I used to live in some really restrictive states Ny, NJ & Ma - I'm in a free state now and life is much easier.
