What do you do with someone that is a faithful christian and whose answer to prepping is that god will take care of things. I am happy for there faith in God, but also believe God would want you to do something for yourself. I would like to believe as they do, it would be a great stress reducer, but wish i had an argument that God was behind preparedness.

dystopia...I was taught to put my faith in the lord, BUT, I was also taught that the LORD wanted us to use wisdom and discernment in our daily lives...

I tell them, " That "My God" helps those, who help themselves" and if they choose to make that choice, likely they will be meeting "Their God" sooner, than later...... .... TMMV..... (their milage may vary)

I've been in both "camps " on this subject These scriptures carry more of the faith path than of prepping .I put a lot less on the physical prepping now and more on the spiritual.
Good question though , and good answers...
    Exodus 16:35

35 And the children of Israel ate manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.

    John 6:31

31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’

I would tell your friend that God works through us, but we must be wise enough to see the blessings. (Stop me if you've heard this ....)

A patrolman went out to a man's house and told him the flood waters were rising and when the river crested the water would cover his house. He encouraged the man to ride with him to the safety of a shelter. The man refused, saying, "God will take care of things".

Later that day the water began to rise and had flooded the first floor. Rescue workers in a rowboat came by and told the man to climb in and they would take him to safety. Again, he refused, saying, "God will take care of things".

The water rose above the second floor and the man went onto his roof. A rescue helicopter flew close by and lowered a ladder shouting to climb on. Again, he refused, saying, "God will take care of things".

The man drowned and when he faced his Maker, demanded to know why he had died after telling everyone "God will take care of things". The Lord said, "I sent a patrol car, a rowboat and a helicopter. It's not My fault that you are too stupid to know a blessing when you see it."

Your friend must be wise enough to see the opportunity to prepare as a blessing. He ignores it at his own peril. As we've said here many times, Noah started building the ark before it started raining.

Ask them if they wear a seat belt when they drive, do they have a fire extinguisher in their house, do they have home owners or renters insurance, do they wear a coat when it's freezing outside, do they work so they can buy food to eat........

If they say no to all of these then they are probably just irresponsible people, lol.

I agree with both, 100% trust in God's headship no matter how things turn out, but use common sense and if God gives you the means to store food then do it, if you can't then don't worry about it. The Bible is full of examples of working and doing things naturally that need to be done in order to survive or provide for your family.

    Prepping for Manna

    Fair enough,
Keep in mine the Hebrew children OBEYED G-ds instruction thru Moses.
AND IT WAS ON THE 15TH DAY OF THE SECOND MONTH AFTER THEY HAD DEPARTED EGYPT THAT THE MANNA APPEARED. So they did what G-D told them and He gave them favor with the Egyptians,so that what ever they ask for they got. So they took out into the wilderness enough food/provisions, to last for 43-45 days based on the LunarCalendar(Hebrew).
So unless you have got your fasting days up to 45.Do what HE says and prepare.
