Yep, and there IS NO Mobile Phone band at 2.6 Ghz in the USA, either.... PCS uses 1.8 - 1.9 Ghz .... YTFHMV...... (Your Tinfoil Hat may Vary)

They also did not test my favorite design, the 'VYKING'.
The horns on the 'VYKING' help defuse the radio waves.

Yeah, it looks like they didn't make much effort to cover the ears either.

Everyone knows those earie canals go right into the brain. Not covering them makes the whole exercise pretty pointless. [loco]

Ah, but Tikka, the OP's Report was done in 2005, and this wasn't proposed as a Mobile Service Allocation until WRC-07, and still isn't operational in the USA as of the first the year 2011. The HARDWARE isn't off the drawing boards yet. WiMax will be first use of the band in the US, and they are just NOW, starting to rollout Base Station hardware for this allocation. it may be a coming technology, but it in't really Baked yet..... ..... YMMV.....

Yep, the ears are wave guides, and the teeth are like radio crystals - these hats never cover the mouth!

I'm thinking whats needed is a 12th century jousting helmet securely grounded to earth.

    I know. The Dutch 2.6GHz auction 5/2010

    • one newcomer getting 2x 25 MHz
    • the second newcomer getting 2x 20 MHz
    • two incumbents each getting 2x 10 MHz
    • one incumbent getting 2x 5 MHz
As 20 MHz has a big fat carrier which is required to the job. The 5 or 10 MHz doesn't have the bandwidth?
IMO, the Dutch auction left more questions than it answered.

The hardware and technology already exist; all that was missing is the bandwidth to market it.
To non-Hams, this "bandwidth" is the difference between dial up and cable. So, I doubt we will see new hardware for a generation. As consumer dollars will be flowing; probably a generation every 6 to 12 months. lol

Back in the day, America would have been part of the innovations. Now, America is so constricted by regulations we can't compete except as a "design house." Design house is engineered here; made elsewhere.
