It made my day too..... Not so much Allah Akbahing at the end of the clip....as WTFing! : O The magazine still look useable though....I think the guy is a real contender for Funniest Taliban Home Videos....I like the expression on his face ...like..."That's not supposed to happen"....while checking his fingers to see that he still had them all.
Looks more like a Bolo round... where the powder has been replaced by c4 of something similar... double/triple charge of powder maybe?
All I will add is read this: Amazon.com: Dirty Little Secrets of the Vietnam War: Military Information You're Not Supposed to Know (9780312252823): James F. Dunnigan, Albert A. Nofi: Books
Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of folks.... Wonder if our boys just spread a bunch of that Bolo ammo around where they can pick it up... Kind of like a Reverse IED..... .......
Find the ammo cache, open up ammo boxes, and they have the tool to pull the bullet, dump powder and stick in a piece of det cord. Reseat slug, re-laquer and put back in the boxes so it won't look tampered with. Something similar works great with mortar rounds too. jm
I have a better one.<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px;"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FAcTtEopHds?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" height="390" width="640"></object>
RC Now tell me you had absolutely nothing to do with the making of that outcome, pmsl. Going from Allah Akbah to Sounds of Silence in 10 or less seconds....priceless...my bad? The voice over guy sounds like he was a former horse racing caller. This clip is called......"Oh Never Mind".....for those who enjoy a little schadenfreude! ; ) Oh, nevermind... - YouTube
Yea, It is a very GOOD thing that these Yahoos know so little about the technology that they use..... Because if they had any Braincells at all, they could be many times more effective, with their IEDs and other weapons. Education is wasted on such fools, they just need to be sent on their way to meet their Maker, ASAP.... ..... YMMV....
It is a very old trick which was modernized in Vietnam; the explosive was in the PETN family but one that was sufficiently shock-sensitive that an AK primer would detonate it. The AKM and Type 56 AKs and the RPD chamber pressure is ~45,000 psi; the explosive round was 225,000 psi.
