    I'm about to go on my long long long overdue vacation in a week. Of course I'm taking my version of a mini-bug out bag. However this last time reading Lights Out by David Crawford the thought struck me. What if one the residents of Silver Hills development had of been far away from home when the disaster struck? How would they have gotten home. So is it strange that 4-5 guns will be going with me? I bought a stretched out briefcase looking gun case for taking my newest AR-15. I was going to get a smaller one but decided rather fit a couple handguns in it as well as sum ammo.

    Main reason AR going is a friend not far from where I going has several ARs & we gonna shoot a lil. Taking my .22 cowboy gun cuz a Female friend scared of guns & I hope to talk her into trip to gun range. Mossberg 500 pistolgrip shotgun is I don't sleep well without it on side of bed. Other than that just my Pocket Sig P238 & my regular carry Glock .45acp.

    So is it odd that I'll only be 300 miles from home, yet carrying several guns on Vacation? My reasons fer carrying them are only 50% the excuse, the other 50% is that thought about a long walk home from reading Lights Out.

    An yes, my bugout pack that going not very small so will have room to fit the firearms not on my person or mounted on pack. Like anything Good, its been modified to be Better.

    I do the same I take my AR, 1911, PT140 because if it does happen and I have to try and fight my way back home. It's better to have them and not need them than need them and not have them. Plus one of my reasons is what if my home area is the hot zone and If I didn't have some with me all my weapons would be out of reach.

    No, not really. I've done it before, too. I also made sure I had my water filter with me, too.

    Sounds perfectly normal to me. Except for that part about 5-guns.

    Why so few ?? b::

    If I knew Big Brother wouldn't hang me to make an example of a white boy with a gun. I'd have a cargo van with racks inside to carry all my gun's, ammo and other gear. The only problem would be if the van got stolen taken across the border and ended up in the hands of a drug cartel. Big Brother would hang me for gun running without my ATF stamp (badge) of approval.

    Hard to say...

    Just returned today from a round trip to the Center of Hell, also known as Atlanta Ga. I also think about being caught out in a Kerrington Event, an EMP or even civil unrest and a state wide lock down. Far fetched I know, but it is one of my scenarios when traveling. So I travel light so I can get home faster. At my age, speed or what's left of it, is my biggest advantage. If any POP event happens, I will get out of my car, grab my BOB and my old Wilson tennis racket case. It's one of the older small ones and it contains my urban survival weapon of choice and a few hundred rounds. Neither will look out of place. I figure I will have only a few hours at best before everyone figures out what the hell is going on and I need to make as much distance as possible. As fast as possible. So I will have my side arm with 3 mags, my BOB, and my trusted Urban Survival rifle with 300 rounds and will beat feet it the hell out of dodge as fast as I can go. I figure if I get 3 or 4 hours of good walking before any real trouble starts, it will put me 15 or 20 miles closer to home and that much farther from the center of what will without a doubt become a living Hell.

    Just my 2 cents
