No one safe to have his or her own opinion of Odumba$$ ESPN pulls Hank Williams Jr. after he compares Obama to Hitler By Chris Chase Hank Williams Jr., the singer whose various videos for the hit song "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Monday Night" has served as the intro to "Monday Night Football" for 23 seasons, compared President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler during a Monday morning appearance on "Fox and Friends." The statement led to ESPN pulling his popular intro segment, best known to fans for its "Are you ready for some football?" ending, for Monday night's game between the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During a discussion on the 2012 presidential race, Williams began discussing Obama's golf outing with Speaker of the House John Boehner. He said it was a political mistake, on par with "Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu." Even if using Hitler in an analogy was something that was socially acceptable, the comparison still doesn't make any sense. If you watched until the two-minute mark of the clip, you'll notice that Williams doesn't seem particularly coherent throughout the segment. He stumbles over words and declared Obama and Joe Biden to be "the Three Stooges." ("That's only two," host Steve Doocy dryly noted.) ESPN released a statement expressing disappointment in Williams' comments. The network said the intro will be pulled for one game and any further decision will be based on how contrite the singer-songwriter is in the immediate future. Stories like this can blow over and burn slowly for a few days. If it's the former, Williams' intro could be back for next week's game between the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions. If it's the latter, "Monday Night Football" may just have become a little less rowdy.

I cant remember any other time when some one spoke out against a president they recieved so much flack. Im glad to see it because with people like this making a stand maybe it will reach some of the sheeple to open their eye's. With what Hank called him or compared him to is a lot nicer than what he would be called here in my home town.

As in - a friendship between Barrack Obama and John Bohner is like Mussolini and Churchill being friends. THAT IS ANALOGY. Now, of they took exception because the SHOE FIT, then be honest about it.
This is a form of politcal intemidation enforced by a company to infringe on a person right to free speech. I wonder how much ESPN is giving to his election fund and what the trade off for ESPN.
I sent ESPN an email telling them I won't watch anything on their channel until they put Hank back on.
That's the way to go about it. People, ESPN has every right to make this decision. Instead of screaming about discrimination (that is the liberal mindset), call or email ESPN and tell them you disagree with their decision and will not patronize them or any of their subsidiaries until they reverse it. Then do it again. Then talk all your friends into doing it. Then talk them into doing it again. You get the picture.

This is the most asinine thing I have heard of in a long time. Although these kinds of stories seem to be increasing in frequency. I know that the general IQ of the American public has drastically declined in the last 50 years but to this degree? People can't make a distinction between an analogy and a direct comparison? Are we so paranoid that we might offend someone that we read something into every statement? What if he had of said "....would be like a dog playing golf with a cat". Would he have been saying the president was a dog? Or "....like Patton playing golf with Rommel." Ooooh, he just called the president a war monger like Patton. How about "...the Grand Wizard of the Klan playing golf with the head of the NAACP." Oh my God, he just said the president was a right wing racist!! Lynch him!!! Is this the state that our nation is in today? The (some believe intentional) dumbing down of America began in the 60's and it appears to have had spectacular results. I for one will not be watching anything that comes on ESPN. I say vote with your remote. There are other channels to watch.

Hank Williams Jr. is releasing a new song entitled "I'll Keep My ...," in which he calls out ESPN and Fox News after his remarks about President Barack Obama and Adolf Hitler on "Fox and Friends" led to his dismissal from the "Monday Night Football" theme song after 23 years. The country music singer wrote the song on Friday and is scheduled to release it late Monday or early Tuesday. In its third verse, he takes issue with how Fox took his words out of context: "So Fox 'n Friends wanna put me down/Ask for my opinion/Twist it all around." If it didn't mean having to listen to Hank Williams Jr. speak about anything other than music or Alabama football, I'd be interested to hear how he thinks Fox twisted his opinion. After all, there are only so many ways to take the quote: "It'd be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu." Williams calls the U.S. the "United Socialist States of America" earlier in the song. He finishes the third verse with a subtlety you'd expect from the man who wrote "Why Can't We All Just Get a Long Neck?"
