You can reduce the signature of a 12 gauge down to about 72db purported by this manufacturer

Sure, it's a barrel extension that's 3 feet long, but what the heck.

    Only 3 feet more huh?
YIKES! But, it's full of holes!
    That's weird!
I have a rifled slug barrel that is ported, but not with all those holes!

Hehehe.... Reality and Hollywood - never the twain shall meet!

Watch the old Dirty Harry movie, "Magnum Force". The bad guy slides a 'suppressor' onto the muzzle of his Colt Python .357 Magnum - you can see the rod that goes INTO the bore! My buddies wondered why I got a good laugh out of that scene...... ;)

Thats where you set up a NFA trust that registers and holds the NFA items in their name not yours. SO, the name of the trust pops up, not you as an individual. Additionally your entire family could be part of the trust, so they would be legally allowed to possess the Silencer, SBS, SBR, FA HK MP5.
There would be no requirement for passing down an NFA item to heir that they have to apply and be approved for the tax stamp as they are a member of the trust and already can posses the item.

I'd advise anyone interested in possessing NFA item(s) consult with a lawyer about setting up such a trust.

Not a one time use item- the adapter is the registered suppressor, the bottle is considered a consumable item, like the older style rubber wipes and baffle stacks. They can be replaced when needed without having to register them.

My decision to buy NFA items wasn't easy. It took years for me to get into it. It wasn't until after I worked at a nuclear power plant that I started to buy class II stuff. By that time, they had both my full palm prints and I already had a few FBI background checks just to work there for a couple of months.

They even called my neighbor and asked her if I was a trustworthy type of person! I like to think so, but you never know what other people are thinking...

Silencer and suppressors are easy enough to make ,and should be expendable enough to cast off as well . the problem is poory made additions like that can ruin accuracy .
In the event something needs to be dispatched silently, archery or a sling shot are just as effective.

Hey guys, just have a minute here, but there is a way to do this right. I have a 10/22 with .920 bull barrel and this combo, (also Volquartsen recoil-stop rod, quiets the action) which also allows use of a NFA legal suppressor on the 1/2 -28 section/base Ultimate Combo Kits ~~ but there are kits for most .22s and even other firearms and there is even an ultimate universal kit (lusting after that, myself, priorities, priorities) Ultimate Combo Kits

A friend with a lathe can pop one out, 3/4-7 threads I think with a weird pitch. They used to be on the net as "solvent catcher adapters".
I might have heard one once, and it was pretty quiet for what it was.

But, for now they are NFA regulated items and whether they call them solvent catchers or audio accumulators, if they are on the business end of your pistol or rifle that you take to the range or out plinking, have a stamp and buy from a licensed manufacturer. JMO

Stick a folding sword-bayonet on the end of it, and you've got a serviceable pike.

I have had an NFA registered sawed off shot gun since 2008. Never had any trouble with the ATF.
Don't register something with them and get caught and you will wish you were only "on their radar".

I own more than a few NFA regulated and taxed weapons and want to mention a brief aside. All the folks on ARF and other sites are quick to warn you off on untaxed weapons and I agree to a point but would like to point out another simple fact. Since 1934, there have been exactly ZERO people convicted by Jury for procession of an untaxed regulated firearm that wasn't tied directly to the commission of another felony crime: zero. But that isn't the way our intimidators work. They don't come to your door, knock politely and say "Mr. So and SO, it has come to our attention that you have a NFA regulated firearm that you haven't paid the $200.00 tax on, please write us a check and remedy this minor infraction". What they do is wait until 3:00 a.m., throw a couple of flash-bangs through your window, shoot you dog with a suppressed MP5, zip-tie wife and children and you while they wreck your house then place you in a concrete box for 32 hours while bad cop tells you how you are going to loose everything you own and spend the next ten years as a crotch-bumper for Leroy while your wife and children starve at the homeless center because they got the goods on you and everybody at ARF.com told you so. Then good cop walks in and says yes, it's bad but we can make this work, just cop a plea for felony procession of an unpaid tax and we can probably get this reduced to a big fine and maybe a two year sentence that you can walk on in six months. Thousands realize the futility and costs of actually going to court so they sign the deal, do their six months, pay a hundred grand and let the real terrorists walk around knowing that they have once more saved society from a delinquent tax.

Wouldn't the pop in the bottle really slow down the bullet and throw accuracy all to H E double hockey sticks? Most pop uses a fairly strong acid (like phosphoric) so you should probably stick to water in case some of it made it back into the barrel.

Or consecrated font water, that way the target can be shriven as the projectile's driven....it's the thoughtful thing to do.....probably gentler on the firearm that sent the target to perdition too. I would suppose followers of MoMo could use ZamZam water with similar effectiveness. Zamzam Well - Wikipedia

Arrows should be purchased at big box stores a few counties away. Wouldn't want those pesky arrow police showing up to view a manufacturer's lot number just because you felt poetic and decided to sing a song and let one fly into the air, aka Henry Wordsworth Longfellow.
