Glad some LEO's take their job to serve and protect seriously. I see police officers change lanes without turn signals , and run red lights all the time. It's good to see that trooper hold her peers to the same standards as the rest of us.

It seems like a case of

Do as I say! Not do as I do......120mph to get to an off duty job???? m give me a break.....after a fair trial and whatever due processes he is entitled to.....I'd be happy to see the judge throw the book at him.

Yes he was. Just think about how embarrassing it was for him to be arrested at gunpoint out there on the freeway for everyone he just passed to see...he deserved it!

I am truly in awe of that Trooper's professionalism and self control. I'm not all all sure I could have resisted beating that stupid S.O.B half to death on the spot. [wannamesswitme]

One county South of here there is - for sure - a long standing feud between the troopers and the county sheriff's department. They do not seem to like each other much at all.

I have my opinions as to why, but they are based on 100% speculation so I won't voice them.

I can tell you this for sure:

I am a civilian. I was brought into the MULTI-AGENCY law enforcement academy originally as a wringer. The firearms and tactics instructors out there were very troubled by the number of officers from all the jurisdictions and agencies just squeaking by the firearm requalifications.

I'm old (almost 55), overweight (6', 230lb) and don't even come close to looking like the career law enforcement or military "type". But I've been training "tactical firearms" and "tactics" for a long time with some fairly high speed low drag folks. In other words; my skills and my appearance are not congruent.

I was brought out to shoot the same course of fire the officers shoot in front of them. To be the "crash test dummy" in hand to hand exercises that illustrated graphically the officers better be proficient or things would NOT go their way.

From the fish police (Fish and game officers), to the Governor's personal security detail, to sheriff's deputies, city officers, to state agents, I've been well received. At least given the opportunity to SHOW that I deserve their respect and that it is in their best interest to pay attention when I am talking.

Except for the Florida Highway Patrol. I've had officers actually get mad bordering on violent when I out shoot them or out physically maneuver them during "apprehension" drills.

I write it off to the Espri De Corps (probably didn't spell that right). Hands down the Florida Highway Patrol is easily the most militaristic law enforcement agency I've ever been exposed to. They carry a very high level of personal pride, pride in their agency, and pride in they job they do.

I still don't let them "win" unless they legitimately deserve to. But I am also understanding when they try to break my arm or shoot me in the foot. [lolol]

Here, it doesn't seem to matter what the po-po might have done. There is no way for them to be arrested. Well, there is a way, but it won't happen.

It's a dumba$$ like that who gives us all a bad name, Im glad the troop did her job. When people see that they don't think look at that dumba$$ they think look at those officer's. He has made an a$$ out of himself and his dept. It will take month's for that dept to get out of the public spot light everytime an officer is running a call people are going to act as if they are just being stupid. I've always had a rule I will not write a man a ticket for some thing I do like seatbelts I don't wear mine so I don't write for them, the only seatbelts I write for is kid's. So when I drve or what ever I do I try to follow the law the same way I would want my citizen Any way good job Troop.

I am really hoping that you worded this incorrectly. Instead of "my citizen" it should have read, the people I serve. No offense, unless that's what you really meant.

Yes just a wrong choice in my wording I work in a rual County and Im just use to the people calling me their Deputy or when talking with them I call them my citizen's or my community. No disrespect it seems to put me on more of a personal level with the people. Most of them call me by name some officer's throw a fit over but we don't keep them long. It makes the people feel more at ease when I talk to them and I seem to get more support and info from the public that way. Sorry

Didn't mean any offense by my post, was just giving you sheet for your wording. I know you are not like that from your posts.

Come on the door is open and we will leave the light on for ya.

I just wonder when or if these guy's will ever see that how can you exspect the public to have faith in you and what you tell them and enforce when you can't follow the rule's yourself and that we need the people to support and stand behind us. I would crawl my guy's for that speed even if they were going on a call that speed is uncontrolable. If the Deputy does not make it to the call he does no one any good any way. Or wreck and kill someone, alot of them act like a car wreck is a code 3 I tell them to slow it down it will be there when they get there.

I guess I have to take exception to that. I think Code 3 (controllable, uv cuss) is justified if there is the possibility of PI. Cancel 3 after the first responder can report no PI. (I ain't an LEO, so don't have to sweat policy.)

True, I just worry with boot's and the adrenaline dump getting in to where they can't control what they are doing. As for me I have had medical training and can render first aid the others officer's in WV it's not mandated training so they don't do it. I got hooked on it when I was a Deputy in NC and in that academy we had to take first responder training. So I did the same when I came home to WV and took the training. Most of the time Deputy's just secure the area and wait for EMS or when I get there I start giving aid and setting up for EMS.
