One of the grandsons got a new .410 for Christmas..his dad was sick so I took him shooting. He was careful and responsible, and got a kick out of the trip.We went thru 2 boxes of .410s.He liked shooting my Judge, too. It'll really make the .410s disappear.

Sounds like expensive fun! I wish .410 shells were cheaper -I like shooting mine too!

There's no mystery to reloading. It'll cut your cost by around 75% for .410. (Not so much an advantage with 12 ga.)

Yep, that's one aspect of reloading I haven't gotten into yet - I just don't shoot shotguns enough to justify the set up cost - another press and all the other goodies......

A 410 provides a lot of fun for young and old I too wish they were cheaper but it's worth it just to spend good time with the kids and grandkid. Days they will remeber forever. I got my oldest one of the 410 security it's a 18.5in with pistol grip stock and pistol grip pump holds seven rounds. Made by mossberg. We still talk about us out shooting cans and targets teaching her to shoot and thats been over 8 years ago.

A buddy of mine he got one of the small hand loaders and he does 410, 20ga and 12ga. he said the small set up did cost hardly anything. He can't produce as many as some of the other guy's who have the big set ups but he said he does enough to keep him shooting. Plus a ittle stock of each he said on days he's just killing time he goes out to the building turns on the radio, day dreams and knocks out a few. I've been thinking about getting one of them.

I´ve already put away a little single shot .410 and 150 shells for whatever kids i´ll have in the future... ;-)

I hope that with all the judge love out there, the ammo will get a bit cheaper as demand rises and i´ll put some more into the closet.

Did you know that some of the harder hitting slugs for the .410 carry just as much punch as a .40S&W round from a handgun?

Found an interesting .410 site a while back btw:

fourten shotgun resource site (.410 gauge)

I wanted to include it to my post, but couldn´t find the link yesterday... i knew i had filed it away somewhere!!

Our local Wally's and the local Gun&Pawn both have the Taurus CIrcuit Judge, .410 Revolver Carbine - so danged COOL looking! I'd love to have it to play with - but it's very hard to justify five C-notes for what would basically be a toy - and my public range doesn't allow shotguns...... [dunno]
Could use .45 Colt loads, but i'd expect the accuracy to really suffer......
Be a great little 'bunny buster' though.

I really, really really want one, too, but I can't justify the expense either. That money would buy several other more useful items. But wouldn't it be a hoot to play with? (sigh..)

Just got all my bills paid. Including PropertyTax. As someone once quipped..... "Too much month at the end of the money!" [dunno]
