I moved here to North Carolina in July after being discharged from the navy....now, Ive been either lurking on this site or an actual member for a while now. That being said, as i read some of these forums on an almost daily basis i tend to see the doom and gloom in the way things are going, specificaly with the ever growing reach of big brother, and now there is the NDAA with its "indefinate detainment" clause, all the talk of FEMA camps and martial law. Doom and gloom type stuff.....but over the last 3 or 4 weeks, I have heard a great deal of gunfire going on all around us ( rural area about 20 miles north of FT. Bragg) and i swear yesterday i herd someone having fun with a Full auto rifle. Not only that but i think someone is shooting off an actual cannon less than a half mile from me. So where am i going with all this? Let them come....Let them declare martial law and do that house to house food and gun confiscation crap. I really dont think they would get past the first couple of houses before those further down opened fire.... There is hope....

I was out in the shed loading some shot capsules for my 44 and got one of the plastic bases stuck in the case and couldnt get it out.....just stepped outside stuck it in the cylinder and touched it off. nice and loud and not a peep from the folks around me....
Unless you're close enough to Bragg to hear the ranges on Manchester Rd; you're hearing the locals.. On the east side of Southern Pines; you can hear small arms at the ranges. The impact area for arty is south of Manchester; sort of in between Manchester and Plank. I really don't know what the average person would do if martial law would be declared. First off, National Martial Law makes about as much sense as the other BS coming out of Washington DC. It don't make sense !!! . There is a reason for the 10th amendment keeping its hands out of things on a national level. States rights matter because there are tons of differences between say life in New York, and say Idaho. Or Washington DC, and Alaska. Or Hawaii and Texas. There are major differences between the cities and the rural areas, but that again is an internal state issue. The Feds just have their unwelcome noses under the edge of the tent in too many areas. The Commerce clause of the Constitution only gives them so much input, but it has Unconstitutionally been abused to the Max. . I can understand Martial law being declared in a city of a regional state area if rioting and unrest were to get out of hand, and that states governor could not handle it on a local level. Then and only then after that governor requested assistance from the feds would it be acceptable, and only until order there was restored. . Martial Law is not meant as a way for Lord Obummer or any other president to set themselves up as Ultimate Dictator until they are willing to step down. . One serious ass whupping is coming down the pike if Martial Law goes Federal on a National Level. It won't be pretty or civil. .
