Im sure everyone here in the Monkey would agree the worlds economy is held togeather by a weak peice of thred. I have noticed more and more people getting worried about a economic collapse.

The only way the true Economic collapse will happen is if it is allowed to happen by those in power. In other words...If the lights go out on the world economy the same people in power now will simply have more control when the lights come back on.

The interview with George Soros, the other day, got my attention. While I may not agree with everything he supports politically, one would have to agree that he knows a thing or two about money and the world economy.

I think it's time to pay attention when someone with this sort of experience says: “I am not here to cheer you up. The situation is about as serious and difficult as I’ve experienced in my career.... We are facing an extremely difficult time, comparable in many ways to the 1930s, the Great Depression. We are facing now a general retrenchment in the developed world, which threatens to put us in a decade of more stagnation, or worse. The best-case scenario is a deflationary environment. The worst-case scenario is a collapse of the financial system.”

This is why I believe it is time for someome like Ron Paul to take the reigns so that we can look inward for solutions to provide for our people...

I am voting for Dr. Paul. I support him 100%. HOWEVER, he will not be able to affect any meaningful change without full support of the Senate and Congress. If he becomes president, I see the Senate and Congress balking him at every turn.

I see one of 2 things happening: 1: he will be assassinated, like JFK, or suddenly become ill and die or 2: he will be allowed to be president, but because the CONgress and SINate will balk him his presidency (at least for the first 2 years) will be ineffectual, he will be rendered lame - politically speaking. The 2nd half of his presidency may be better (I say may), then again, it may not depends on how the sheeple vote (scary thought that). It very well could be TPTB allow or speed up the economic collapse so they can lay it squarely at his feet, even though he would have had literally nothing to do with it.

Just my 2 copper clad zinc slugs worth of opinion. YMMV

Sadly, I feel you may be correct. I would think that if elected, he would use Executive Orders to make some GOOD changes if stymied by Congress; we've had enough of Obama's "change". There is always hope.

Welcome to the Monkey, and HOWDY from Northwest of Houston. Hope you like it here.

I pray Dr. Paul would not resort to the Executive Order solution. In fact I pray fervently he ends the State of Emergency the US has been in since 1933 that empowers the Executive Orders. That, and all he has to do is rescind every Executive Order signed since 1933. That would be signing his own death warrant though and his VP would likely be pressured into undoing any changes Dr. Paul would make, much like LBJ did after JFK was killed.

It is a game, a deadly, serious game with stakes that are as high as our liberty, freedom, and a good man's life.

It is like pounding a 6 in nail through a steel wall to get the sheeple to move past the status quo for a Presidential candidate. Congressional and Senatorial positions are not as high profile, receive little thought by 99.9% of the people, and the same vermin get elected over and over.

    Le sigh.

I do not think it will even get that far much less Dr. Paul get the Republican nomination. If he started to get traction with the populace for the nomination, he would be demonized somehow by both parties and the media. Even if it was a bold face lie. He is a viable threat to Capitol Hill's business as usual mentality, neither party will allow it to happen unfortunately. There is too much money, power, control and careers at stake. I wonder just how many politicians realize what really is at stake if we continue down our current path. How BS and/or promises are they being fed to blind them.

I hate to say it, we are more than likely headed for 4 more years of Hope the country does not fall into a Depression and Change the stranglehold of the Federal Reserve. I wish I could be more optimistic but the light at the end of the tunnel is fading.

I have to agree that Ron Paul will never get the chance to take the helm of the ship, I would like to see it. To many special intrest groups and way to many stupid people. As far as the rest of the field they all stink I would like to vote for Kermit the Frog at least you know he sleeps with pork.
