Unfortunately I would have to agree with the State in this case.. The guy sounds like a dumbass... Within walking 12 feet into my house, you would have passed several pistols and long guns.. But you would not have seen a single one... And, as I do have kids, they are in places that are high enough out of reach of a toddler... But that's just me..
As far as the swords go.. So what.. But if there was a case worker there in the first place, there must be some kind of history with this guy...

Nope, doesn't require any history here. I personally had dealings with them less than 2 months ago. All it takes here is for me to pick up the phone and place a call claiming some sort of issue and they will be at your door and even once they inspect the home and determine the claims were false they'll protect the lying scumbag that called them. This guy made the same mistake I did and cooperated thinking they would conduct themselves like professionals. I let em in knowing I had nothing to hide and the moron even raised concerns about the buck knife on my hip. Walked through the home, says "This looks nothing like the report I received" YET he came back every freaking week for 3 months.

I do agree though that whether or not the kid knows better the weapons should be out of reach. My 2 and 3 year olds know not to do a lot of stuff, but they also know when dad ain't looking.

my wife tried to cause some problems, using Child Protective Services .... I was lucky enough to get the only guy in the office assigned to the complaint .... he dismissed after a walk around the outside ..... he even had complaints about the fellow women workers .... anti-male/father to the core ......

Yeah the fellow how investigated me said they get that all the time. Something on the level of 90% of their work is investigating reports made by a ticked off ex who can't afford to gain custody via a legal battle.

Our whole society has become totally against Fathers and Fathers are too often treaded like criminals without so much as a speeding ticket on their record.

That being said leaving any firearm in view and reach of a 2 yeat old is not too bright, as well as your dope.

If the state knocks on your door you dont have to let them unless thay have a warrent.

I once was pulled over by the cops, the cop asked me if I minded if he looks inside my car. I said as a matter a fact I do. He said he can get a warrent and that would take 6 hours, I said Ill wait. So he gave me my licensence back and we were on our way. Not sure what the whole thing was about and I had nothing in may car illegal.

I once way stopped and told the cop "Why are you asking me to serch the car? You arte going to do it anyways" He asked me about 5 times and I never gave him the go ahead. I just said you are a cop and you will do what you wish. He got frustrated and never serched the car.

Sounds like the child was removed because the father is an idiot, not because of guns.

Maybe, maybe not. Coriander seeds look alot like cannibus seeds, as do several other types of seed. There was no proof of drugs in the house. Maybe the case worker should have called for the cops to check the seeds and residue instead of making unfounded claims. Did anyone do a background check for drug priors, or domestic abuse, if suspect was an excon? Obviously not.

Also everyone here seems to be bashing the courts for being anti male. Just to be clear, in contested custody battles, statistically men win 70% of the time. That is not to say men get custody automatically 70% of the time. But when it is contested they do. just saying

At least, the child went to a relatives home instead of some strangers house like Foster Care.

I agree with those about leaving firearms within the reach of a 2 yr. old.

Does the State of Ohio consider marijuana seeds the same as possession of marijuana? It is my understanding that seeds alone in some states warrants a jail sentence. Yes/No.

In the State of Oregon possession of up to 1 ounce in a Class B Misdemeanor but I do not believe that alone could get your kids taken away. However, if you were smoking it in front of your kids, that's different. One thing is for certain, once they take your kids away, it is a long road getting them back.

I honestly haven't got a clue. I do know my brother was charged with possession for a bad drug test. Something to do with you had to possess it to fail the test LOL

He was already on probation for something but rather than just a simple violation for failing the PO had him charged and he ended up with a year in prison for possession of schedule 2 narcotic.

Pretty much the same would happen if you are already on probation. Fail a drug test, you could get a possession charge, at minimum you enter into a mandatory Diversion Program.

Thats completely false. Women get primary custody 85% of the time in every state that Ive studied including Alabama, men are then considered "visitors" and generally see their kids 2 time per month.

My group is trying to get a Bill Passed this session that Both parents are equal and share equal time with their children.

My case was ruled totally in favor of my kids mother, I appealed and settled the appeal through medeation in which I get equal time with my kids. The distruct jackass judge did not want to sigh off on it and file it but it was out of his jurisdiction. I would have appealed all the way to the Supreme Court of Alabama, and then filed a Federal Lawsuite for violuation of my civil rights.

I can assure you the in the eyes of the court system a Father is nothing more than a bank period.

Did you know that every dollar the states collect in child supprot the Federal Goovernment matches it?

True, my daughter is a single Mom; he turned her in for leaving the kid home alone while she was working. We provided the child care every day.

Correct, they will protect the lying scum bag who called.

CPS just doesnt visit this guy was on the hook for a past issue and already had conditions.

I can't say whether there were or weren't, but I can tell you that CPS does indeed just drop in if someone calls em up and makes an accusation.

I can second that. And they don't get very happy at all when you read the 4th Amendment to them. That's when you have to be ready for a long battle.

CPS does visit upon receiving a complaint. However, the article implies an ongoing issue in the home. The caseworker was visiting a "client". I'm not sure about there, but in NC that is usually reserved for someone already in the system. If so, the father should have been prepared for the ongoing visits.
