When Keltec says third quarter of this year they actually mean last quarter of 2015.

Cant say I disagree... and why I never became a distributor for them... but to be fair they have gotten a little better in keeping their production quotas... still it'll be 2013 before you see one in your local gun store late 2013 I bet

It's the only thing I dislike about them. I still haven't been able to get my hands on a G22 compatible Sub-2000. If they ever decide to get a few more out the door I'd like two of 'em.

It won't be replacing my Bushy M17S bullpup.

Maybe a backup to the CETME later on, AFTER I see some range reports.

I'm still waiting on that little twin-tube mag shotgun.......

Kel-Tec advertizes too much vaporware. [stirpot]

RFB is much better than that crappy Cetme...no offense, but I've owned both and the Cetme is just ok. Only thing the Cetme has going for it is cheap mags. Same cannot be said for metric FAL mags the last two years.

I personally feel that a 24" barrel negates the benefit of it being a bullpup. Kel Tecs have never produced precision rifles and while you will gain some MV from a 24" barrel versus the standard 18" barrel..it's going to be much heavier.

RFB is a solid rifle, but it's not worth the 2k some folks are paying for them...I bought mine back in 2010 and it was $1,300.

One of the perceived advantages of the bullpup IS the longer barrel while retaining a short overall length - my M17S has a 23" barrel while still being just over legal overall length. A 16" barrel would make it an SBR - I don't go that way.

Don't know why the bias against the CETME - 100% reliable over several years and MANY rounds, fairly light & handy for it's size, and one MOA accurate with good ammo. Least felt recoil of any .308 semi I have shot. What's not to like?

I am one of the odd ducks who actually likes bullpups - their quirky ergonomics aren't to everyone's taste.

I think the bias against the CETME is from it's brass wrecking capabilities. The CETME I shot would dent the rim, flute the neck of the cartridge and almost send them into the next county when ejecting.

If you reload, .308 is precious, and the CETME is a brute. I sold my .45 acp UZI because it would dent the brass horribly and I was only able to get a little over half of them usable. The 9mm UZI doesn't do that, and lends itself well for reloading.

Had that issue with a Valmet m76fs... dented the brass so bad on ejection you had to sell it for scrap...

There are available 'buffers' to eliminate the case dents, and the 'flute marks' are generally just scorched, not impressed (there are exceptions), that can be eaily polished away with tumbling. I have reloaded my CETME used brass.
The M17S sometimes dings it's cases too - similar reason, as the edge of the ejection port is far enough from the bolt that the brass can swing back and hit it. Minor dents aren't a problem.
I like the looks of the KelTec RFB BP, but not sure I could really justify the cost, considering I have that niche/function covered already.

Not so odd... I too like the compactness of a bull-pup...

What I don't like is the fairly typical mushy trigger feel, thanks to the need for a long rod to actuate the trigger mechanism...

as a fact action assault weapon I'd prefer the bull-pup,,, less to hang up on faster to swing onto target... but for long range high precision shooting... I'm going with a more traditional design

This is not a true statement. There is a company doing work on the M17 to make them more modern and they cut the barrels and it still meets the 26" OAL guidelines.

The best bullpup that I ever owned the PS90...that was a true ambi rifle and I loved the fact that the brass would just drop into the brass catcher, so no concerns about having brass hitting your face or body. Ambi controls allows the user to shoot right or left handed. I just wished FN offered other calibers in that compact package.

While I liked the RFB for offering ambi features and not having to worry about brass while shooting left/right side...it as sorta heavy and wasn't the best for mounting optics.

    I miss my PS90.

Yahoo's M17S website has some members making interesting mods. I plan to do a few myself - fore end needs padding - it gets HOT on sustained firing! A cheek pad would be good too. Need to install a longer rail on mine, and bob the carry handle - some iron sights would be a good addition too. Mine has none. If the optics break, I am down to 'point&shoot'....... ;)

I'll second that- the PS-90 is a great PDW. I just had issues with FN and their idiotic stance about not selling parts to the consumers. When it breaks, you have to send it back to FN to fix- you can't fix it yourself. There was a few vendors making recievers, but good luck getting barrels, barrel sleeves, bolts, trigger group housings, etc.

I also got tired of having to treat the empty casings like they were made of gold, handling them with care so the reloads would work reliably.

Once upon a time I had a massive gun bonerz for the KAC SR-25... the proprietary parts being made of unobtainium made that go away in a hurry. Keeping spares off the market is one sure fire way to make me look elsewhere.

There are two FN forums and members part out their rifles...granted it's not cheap, but you can get the trigger packs to the stocks. CMMG offers SBR barrels and other companies are starting to offer service/products for PS90.

I still have 5.7 brass and a brass catcher and a vest from TheVestGuy for PS90/FsN pistol in multicam if you are interested in purchasing. I just have so much gear and I want to clear out some space.
