The U.S. Secret Service is looking into a violent rant by "Catch Scratch Fever" rocker Ted Nugent in which he denounced President Barack Obama and his top advisers as "evil" and urged National Rifle Association members to help "chop their heads off in November."
"I'll tell you this right now: If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said. "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Any questions?"
Nugent, speaking at the organization's annual gathering over the weekend, praised NRA members but warned that if they did not "get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil, America-hating administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."
"If the coyote's in your living room, pissing on your couch, it's not the coyote's fault. It's your fault for not shooting him," he said.He also denounced the administration as "criminals" and said a Democratic victory in November would mean "we'll be a suburb of Indonesia next year" — an apparent reference to Obama's boyhood time there.
d2012_promo. Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary told Yahoo News: "We are aware of the incident and we are conducting appropriate follow-up."
And a spokeswoman for Mitt Romney, whom Nugent has endorsed, distanced the campaign from his remarks.
"Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from. Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," Andrea Saul said by email.

I and others here at SM recognise that Ted Nugent is speaking rhetorically with metaphorical hyperbole...the problem is that some idiot will hear and read his words but interpret them literally...and witlessly try and put them into actual literal effect.

A reasonable interpretation of Nugent's rant would conclude that he was not inciting people into perpetrating violent illegal acts. Having said that...he would seem to be preaching to the converted, judging by the head nodding at that venue. An accidental discharge caused by the dude waving around a double barrelled scatter gun in the background would have livened things up though.

Just as a tangental thought...I'd be fascinated enough to watch Romney's inauguration if he manages to defeat Obama...just to watch the first POTUS to swear his oath of office on The Book of Mormon. Heresy!

What choice do we have, evil #1 or evil #2. I know there is a third choice and I vote for that.

You know L.E.O's, EMS, Firefighters, And the everyday man how many time are we just staight out threaten with bodily harm or death? I know I had 4 last week who made the statement that they had the urge to shoot me and I was lucky I caught them by surprise. Now Im talking dope dealers that I just put a huge dent in their money. People who would carry out such threats and I've had 2 calls with a man threatening to shoot and kill a farmer for calling the police for a guy drinking and driving in front of the farmers house where kids play and 2 call where drunks at a bar has threaten to kill my family, the bar owners family and all the people in the bar. Where is the CIA to investigate these death threats? Im sure Ted is a dangerous mad man who had a hidden plan in his rant of how our country is going. When in certain positions a man has to exspect some anger and comments made in anger. It comes with the job if I arrested everyone who has threats to Mine or other L.E.O.'s my county would be al,ost empty I would probally have 30 citizens left. Along with most of the ones locked up would be good citizens of the county and a few my friends. Who just lost their temper and went on a rant.

Ever been trapped in the home of a diehard LDS member?
I have and let me tell you that what occurred at the hands of the numerous missionaries rotated through the church is tantamount to brainwashing. Non stop "lessons" in the foster home, hands laid on my freakin head and some substance sprinkled on my head while missionaries speak mumbo jumbo and call it speaking in tongues. Missionaries stalking me at work. 15 years old and I got freakin church missionaries at my job sitting in the dining room just waiting on me to go on break for more brainwashing. And keep in mind I was in a foster home. My option was endure this torture or go sit in a juvenile facility.

No, but my sister married then divorced one. A complete cad, and his daddy was a tax cheat. Proves my sister has bad taste in men, or did at the time.

What does this have to do with Mitt?

I've had to deal with lots of fanatics of all strips while in the military...the Baptists (the real bible thumpers) were the worst. Doesn't mean I dislike Baptists in general, I've even voted for a couple.
(Rolls eyes) We all know how Carter turned out, does that disquality any and all future candidates that are of his persuasion?

The JW come to my house despite my No Trespassing signs. Tell 'em no and they go away. The list could go on.

Maybe it's just me or I don't know all the facts on Mittens --
He seems honest enough, made is own money, gives to charity, hasn't cheated on his wife...has nice kids. May be a lot more liberal than I am, but not an outright Marxist/socialist like we seem to have today.

Maybe I'm just too open minded. Hope my brain doesn't fall out.
    YMMV

My opinion wasn't formed based on the actions of a single member. The entire church in that city was made up of backstabbing, sociopathic, stalkers. Considering the way that the church is governed, the culture of the faith, etc I have a hard time believing such people are not prevalent throughout the LDS membership.

Besides who wants a leader whose church one day hopes to reinstate theodemocracy? Being pagan I surely do not.
