Some things you don't want to know what they are. Nothing that walks, crawls, swims or flies (or parts thereof) is safe in Asia. Several things I tasted were good, but I don't know what they were, they wouldn't tell me because they thought us Westerners were too sensitive about such things. However, there may have been some whale's testicles sliced and fried, so I was given to believe the next day.

I have eaten pretty much everything that walks, flies, or swims around in PA, NY, and ME.
Assorted fish, Snakes, Opossum, Rabbit, Whitetail deer, Blacktail deer, fallow deer, Black bear (Simply amazing terriaki style), North American Bison, Duck, Squirrel, Goose, Elk, Beaver, woodchuck, turkey, pheasant, quail, doves, and a bunch of other stuff. Some I highly recommend, others.....not so much (you cant pay me enough to eat a piece of woodchuck again). Some of the listed items are as common to my family as chicken and beef is to the sheeple.

When I was in China last, I could not eat the sea cucumber soup. Looked like a turd in my bowl!

Have eaten most any kind of animal and most edible plants. My old suvival instructor said in a gruff drill instructor's voice--you can eat anything, you can even eat kidneys---but you have to boil the piss out of them. To that he added a sly grin and slight chuckle.

Grubs, drizzled in wild africanized bee honey, and steamed in bananna leaves under the coals.
My Aunt made a big mess a corn beef hash one time, and when we got about half way through the pan of it.I bit into a human molar that none of us were missing.
We joked for quite a few years about how we knew what happened to Jimmy Hoffa.
The corn beef was made by"Astor",and was processed, and canned in Brazil/S.America.

The "Mystery Meat" aboard my Navy Frigate. When the Filipino mess cranks got through "currying" something, we had no idea what it was in life.......

The guy that made it did a good job, it was really tasty. I had a bowl twice as big as everyone else had, and wanted seconds!

Hmmm, back in '74 I was at a community party in Talofofo, Guam and when I asked what the meat being served on stick was I was told "You call it "dog".". Wasn't all that bad either.

Nothing too exotic after that the usual stuff a country boy eats, all manner of panfish, squirrel, woodchuck, deer, snappin' turtle (Didn't care too much for that tasted more like mud than anything else.), had Caribou a buddy shot when I was stationed at NavSta Adak, Ak.. Moose is dang good eats, beaver too (no jokes please...) Dandylion greens are OK, Cattail root, well I'd have to be starvin to eat that again.
