US Navy's 'UFO-Like' Stealth Drone Takes Flight Published October 11, 2011 FoxNews.com Developed by Northrop Grumman, the X-47B is a tailless, strike fighter-sized unmanned aircraft designed to take off from and land on moving aircraft carriers at sea. (Northrop Grumman) The U.S. Navy reached a new milestone for a futuristic new stealth drone when it successfully retracted its landing gear and flew in cruise configuration for the first time, engineers announced Tuesday. Developed by Northrop Grumman, the X-47B is a tailless, strike fighter-sized unmanned aircraft designed to take off from and land on moving aircraft carriers at sea. New images released today depict a futuristic, almost UFO-like vehicle. The test flight, conducted at Edwards Air Force Base, helped validate hardware and software that would enable the X-47B to land with precision on a moving deck, the company said. "Last week's flight gave us our first clean look at the aerodynamic cruise performance of the X-47B air system … and it is proving out all of our predictions," said Janis Pamiljans, vice president and Navy UCAS (Unmanned Combat Air System Carrier) program manager for Northrop Grumman's Aerospace Systems division. "Reaching this critical test point demonstrates the growing maturity of the air system, and its readiness to move to the next phase of flight testing." The aircraft is part of the U.S. Navy’s growing fleet of drones as the military looks to shift away from manned aircraft. Northrop Grumman hopes to have successfully demonstrated the first carrier-based launch by 2013 with autonomous in-air refueling coming one year later. That's just amazing. Pilots won't like it but we won't be risking his life and millions of dollars for training.
As far as aliens go...I know what I have seen. I just can't expect anybody else to believe me. As far as the gub'ment is concerned...yeah, they have very advanced technology. The black budget is immense, and there is a TON of aircraft and other things most folks know nothing about. The small amount of stuff we get bits and pieces of information on is far-fetched enough. Yeah, unmanned is the future. No doubt about that.
No, lol. At least, not to my knowledge. I have seen some amazing aircraft, some very close. When they glow orange and fade in and out of time-space...I say it's a little beyond what we (believe) we have at our disposal. But anyway. Yeah, I have seen "UFO's" shaped like a falcon, glowing red, I have seen them shaped like the Zelda tri-force symbol in orange, too. But, I still cannot say I have seen aliens, lol. I believe life is possible elsewhere in the vastness of space. It's mathematically sound, and to assume we are the only advanced life forms would be silly to me. Naturally, we come from a race that also believed the earth was flat and was the center of the universe. Who knows what we will claim to "know" tomorrow.
