The "liberal left" aren't the only ones to critique religion

The "liberal left" aren't the only ones to critique religion. Religion has its critics from the "secular right" also. I discovered the website, "Secular Right" in my travels through the internet, and thought it worth bringing it to the attention of those monkeys here, religious and secular whose political views trend towards the more conservative / right end of the spectrum. Critiquing religion is not just the province of commie, socialist atheists...it's a persuit that can be taken up quite validly by right wing / conservative secular humanists also.

Could you expand on your topic and enlighten us as to the differences in the Secular Right's desire to destroy religion and the left's desire to destroy religion? Oh wait.. that's right. They SR don't really care either way what you do. They just exist and are happy to let you do your own thing. The SL.. well... not so much. [freedom]

First-religion and Christianity is two different subjects. Christianity has had it's detractors from day one. Judas, one of the trusted betrayed Jesus. Agnostics throughout the ages have "known" different ways and secrets that put them above "regular" folks. Detractors of the faith are absolutely nothing new. Eve succumbed to satan's lies and from then on he has been able to continually side track many. As Solomon said---nothing new under the sun.

Seriously?? You link to a post that you yourself made in the comments section of some obscure site. And that is supposed to tell us what? That not all conservatives are Christians? Umm... I don't believe that is news.

Every atheist conservative I have known fully supports the rights of Christians and Christianity.

If you look hard enough I'm sure you can find a homophobic gay person.

Firstly, I doubt that every atheist conservative that you personally know, would represent much of a sample of the atheist conservatives in your state, let alone your nation. Your sample would be so small as to be insignificant. http://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/anecdotal . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anecdotal_evidence

Secondly, I would be interested in which rights of Christians and which facets of Christianity they are supporting?..If it's the freedom of association, freedom of speech and freedom of exercise (of religion) clauses of the US Constitution's First Ammendment, then that would be unsurprising, and it would also support religions other than Christianity, and people with no religious affiliation or belief at all. One thing that they are unlikely to agree with and most likely would not support, if they are atheists at all, are the truth claims of Christians and Christianity with regard to Christian (or any other religion's) dieties, religious dogmas and doctrines.

If you had a cursory look at the website in the OP link above...you will notice a skepticism of supernatural truth claims...but from a conservative humanist perspective. In what way are your atheist conservative associates different?

Your statement is a non sequiteur. non sequitur - definition and examples - logical fallacies

I am not quite sure what your point is with this statement, as gays and homophobes have nothing to do with the thread topic. Being a conservative and being an atheist are not mutually exclusive properties, as perhaps you are suggesting in the analogy of the homophobic gay person. being a gay homophobe is not a paradox...I am confident that there are many gay homophobes...just that they have not resolved their homosexuality, or that they may use their apparent homophobic attitudes and behaviour as a screen to conceal their true nature.

    Challenge accepted...

One may not need to look much past their own local church, synagogue, temple or mosque.

I never stated or tried to say that all or most conservative atheists are Christian friendly. I'm simply stating that my experience has been different. This is a good example of what I am referring to. I would bet that a larger percentage of truly conservative atheists are more understanding and accepting of Christians as opposed to the typical liberal atheists who are so unsure of themselves and what they believe that they feel the need to constantly put down and bash Christians every chance they get for no good reason and unprovoked.

This is one example, although this type of atheist/agnostic thinking is probably in the minority.

What challenge are you referring to? I must have missed something. My only point in reference to the anti-gay gay was that you can find unlikely examples just about anywhere if you want.
