    Remember, Daily bag is 2
    Same for Reapers.

Those drones that are used by quasi-government agencies are no limit and neither are the un-licensed drones that fly under 400 feet.

Currently, only Iran has brought one down so if you happen to bag one, you will be in an elite group.

Post pics here. Big, Small we want them all.

Can anyone explain to me the difference between a UAV and a police helicopter?

In terms of violation of rights, what is the difference? If you like small gov't and less spending, a UAV has a lot of advantages.

Why is this not in the tin foil hat lounge, GD, or inferno? Hardly hunting.

Except I have never heard of a Police Chopper, with GUN PODS, attached..... where that seems to be a BIG Deal on the UAV Sales Pitch.....

    Except they aren't.

Just like a chopper can be armed, so can a drone. Doesn't mean it is.

UAV, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (could be rotor craft, fixed wing, or some hummingbird flapping wing sucker) usually in control by predefined flight program or a ground based 'Pilot' sending signals. It's a video game engagement. if the screen goes black you still go home to the spouse.

Police helicopter, has some crazy person playing with the throttle, stick, pedals and collective with all four appendages, usually has a value of their own life and a sense of mortality. Typically do not want to die in a fire ball crash during a mission.

As for why is it in hunting? If one of these suckers is flying over my house. I'm going to be hunting it?

I expect privacy upon my land. If you are in a helicopter, I'm probably going to notice. They are neither small nor quiet. I may change my behaviour to adjust to observance.

But, a drone? couple of feet long gliding, and silent? very inconspicuous and may not be noticed.

I see it, I'm shooting it. Just sayin.

Apparently you have never had oversight of a crashed UAV..... investigations ensue and folks get charged just the same (when at fault).

Its in the pilot's best interests to not treat the aircraft as a toy.....

Ridiculous argument BTW..... kamikaze UAVs....... inventing a problem where there is none is always a good POV ;)

Anyways.... I, for one, are for cost saving measures. The size of the birds we are talking about are nill and incapable of the weapons of mass destruction that most CTs are advocating. The invasion of privacy is the same as a police helicopter with FLIR taking a look for grow houses..... its stood the test of time.

Of course I am discussing this with someone that would swear that the the sky was red if the gov't issued a statement saying it was blue. What was I thinking?

Al, what are you talking about? Kamakazi?

let me make this a little more clear to ya.

In a drone crash, pilot does not die.

In a helicopter crash, good likely hood the pilot and/or some of the crew is gonna die or be really messed up at best.

I think you are reading in a little to much into my posts.

By the way, was this a personal attack?

  14. Hispeedal2

    Hispeedal2 Nay Sayer

Not really a personal attack. Just a statement about your viewpoint.

The kamikaze statement refers to your perception that a UAV pilot could care a little less about keeping the bird in the air.... a statement that is 100% false. I wish I had numbers, but UAVs have a better track record than real pilots.

I'll give you another perspective. How many folks have been killed on the ground from manned aircraft crashing v. unmanned?

You should be staunchly demanding the grounding of American Airlines if that's the stance you want to take (a bit of an exaggeration, but kind of true).

(How much of this is serious and how much is sarcasm?)

again, you may still reading in way too much tinfoil into my posts.

No where did i state UAV pilots didn't care about keeping their craft in the air.

You asked what was the difference between UAV and helicopters. Maybe my response was a bit obtuse.

let me make it painfully clear and remove any funny context to my answer.

UAV: Un-manned, light weight and cheap.
Helicopter: Has a pilot, Big and heavy, Expensive to both fly and maintain.

This thread was originally about hunting drone, with daily bag limits and to post your trophies. LOL

Wouldn't it be much easier to take out the operation center.

Presuming it's not in an underground bunker.

It might be in the back of a truck right around the corner.

    Jes sayin'.

I don't trust the government, or any government for that matter.

If everyone shared this perspective, maybe we wouldn't be living in a police state.

Depends on the UAV... Predator Drones are guided by SAT based Comms... and these Civie things, usually are much smaller and guided locally with Ranges less than 3000 Yds. These is NOT an issue where I live, until the USCG starts flying them, instead of JayHawks, and I don't believe the USCG JayHawks are Armed, period, except for maybe a Flare Pistol, or Two. We usually wave at the JayHawks, as they fly by, just to be nice. Sometimes I say "Hi" on Guard, just to let them know, someone is listening..... ..... YMMV....
