You can trust the "news" for the truth - no, really

MSNBC (A. Mitchell) is at it again.

While back, you'll remember, the MSM selectively edited a tape of Zimmerman to make it seems as if he was making racit remarks. When the blatant lie was exposed, the resulting firestorm of criticism forced the 'news' organization to fire the producer related to the story. Right.

Well, seems they are at it again - editing comments M. Romney to make him sound the fool. Except, now the entire statement is out on the web, showing the duplicity. Like the guy or not, he (and we) should get a fair - and honest - report on what he has said....

So, you have to ask - what else have they lied/altered/hidden to meet an agenda?

Better question - who is pulling the strings to cause the lie/edit/hidden items?

Try to get real stats on gang-related crime for example - good luck. The list could go on.

    Where will it all end?

I think we, "we" - in the larger sense, are pulling the strings. As long as there is a market for sensational news, the media will continue to report/create sensationalist items for our consumption.

They report what sells. That's why we don't see reports on the continuing violence in Bosnia, the continuing chaos in Somalia, the twelve-year and running war in central Africa which has displaced millions, and killed hundreds of thousands. Nobody in America cares about those things. It isn't what makes Americans tune in by the millions.

They produce what sells - sensationalist crap about this politician/celebrity or another. People would rather watch "Dancing with Stars" or "Bachelorette" than a reputable news program. They would rather hear scandal than the truth about what is happening in their country, and in the wider world.

Nietzsche once remarked that religion was the opiate of the masses. I think that comment could also be applied to media entertainment. As the Roman politicians learned long ago - "Bread and Circuses."

this comes from having a "FREE MARKET PRESS" if you have enough $$ to pay as an advertiser/sponsor you can get almost anything you want published as the truth...
