one more thing Californians are bad at . . .

.... they are bad shots. They have single-handedly wounded enough game--without killing it, to where it runs off and dies--to provide enough lead-filled carrion for Condors to eat that they are about to become extinct.

Condors threatened by 'epidemic' lead poisoning from hunters' bullets - CSMonitor.com

Other animals are smart enough to know "Hey, this jackalope was killed by lead ball ammo....I'm not eating that." Not the condor though...."nom, nom, nom." And, condors only eat carrion killed by hunter's fatal missed shots....not road kills, natural causes, coyote scraps, Oprah scraps, Rosie O'Donnel scraps.....

Heck...I believe in state's rights. I think CA should be allowed to secede. They should be able to ban everything...including the electricity they use from Hoover dam and petrol from Texas and LA.

In turn, the rest of us should show our support for their new isolationism that we don't go to a single movie for a year. Think about it, the movie biz in Hollywood is sort of like the .gov--all of their money comes from people with money.

Well, got hit by the vanishing post bug.

Could some of the lead poisoning be coming from the "sport" hunters that kill an animal then leave it rot w/o taking the meat?

Hmmm not related to lead in the atmosphere from fuel additives or industry (batteries are manufactured in the area) so it must and can only be from hunters... lets ban them all.... wait we tried that didn't we?

Maybe....what about fish washed up, who knows.

I was being facetious of course. My guess is that it's just another attempt to outlaw ammunition by increasing its cost to put it out of reach for most folks.

ditch witch I do stupid crap, so you don't have to

I quit going to the movies years ago, and until someone convinces the area culeros that yelling at the characters on screen doesn't change the outcome of the movie, I ain't goin back either.

Ah hahhhhh! Good point! Take that you bunch of anti-American kommies.

Their very argument implicitly says that condors *would be* extinct without the aid of the poor shooting of Kalifornians.

The next thing you know, they'll want to ban rock-salt in muzzle-loaders because it gives the animal high blood-pressure.

I think this study is probably BS. I doubt they really know what toxic levels are for these birds (they would have to do a double blind study on actual condors, in which some would die).

Turkey vultures seem to do really well in the rest of the country.

Perhaps they have evolved. That which adapts to a new environment stays around.

I think you are on the right track. The next thing coming is a steep ammunition tax for Condor relief. Knowing the Californian's they will put some environmental charge on top of the tax....good times.

The Libtards have many times tried to tax ammo into oblivion - hasn't been allowed to pass YET. Good reason to stock up and lay back components too.
