Holy crap. How did he get all this stuff? Some people are really clueless about how other people perceive the world around them, and by extension, perceive them. I don't even bring up an economy crash around most of my family, let alone go full bore with them. My mom would call the cops on me, and tell me she did it for my safety and that I need therapy. Did this guy know NOTHING about his wife's attitude? Geeze.
Other than shooting in his attic (which I am not sure I believe), what exactly did he do wrong? Owning a sh## load of stuff is not illegal that know of. They did not say he threatened anyone.
Surely he knew how his wife felt about things and should have acted accordingly--even to the point of leaving home/her. Now he cannot have ANY firearms of any kind--maybe forever with that restraining order on him. My wife does not know about some things and neither do the children. If (and a big if) a spouse is in total agreement then trust is OK and welcomed. Have met a few couples that have that degree of trust but even then there is the chance that the tables will turn should there be a domestic dispute. Let a marriage turn sour and see what happens to your firearms/collections. It does happen with a sad regularity.
First thing he did wrong was marry a physcologist (the only reason to major in Psych is to figure out whats wrong with yourself...) .... second thing was live in Mass... Then owne some nasty black guns... and questionable munitions (CS and pepper grenades) then have the shooting range and banned ownership of trama plates... Nothing wrong in 45 other States....
There are a couple of years, in one of my previous Lifetimes, that Alaskachick knows very little about.... as there are a few years in Her previous Lifetimes, that I know little about. It does make for interesting Pillow Talk, on cold winter nights..... Oh, what foolish things we did, in those Young, and BulletProof, years of Youth.... It just amazes "Me" that I lived thru that era...... ..... YMMV.....
Sure hope he gets that restraining order off so he can regain his shooters. Being in Mass. I doubt he will ever see them again.
I know one thing and I have never did it in my life but I do think this would be grounds for my wife to be beaten swiftly about the head and neck as soon as I got out of jail. -06 I think this guy will get screwed out of them no matter what, thats why they claimed that he was set up in a military fashion. Hell I hope they don't look in my building for ammo cans. I have multiple one filled with bolts, screws and nails I guess they will be on the ban list and will be used as prob cause to list you as a terrorist.
Oh he'll never get his stuff back. His wife is a head shrink, she put a restraining order on him, and she's divorcing him. She'll tell the court (and happily provide statements to the cops) that he's unstable and a danger to himself, and given her profession and their location, the poor guy will probably wind up in a nuthatch before it's all over.
Maybe the wife should see a psychiatrist for being married to an individual with so many issues. Maybe she could claim that she felt she could help him and stayed with him because of that. A simple analysis would then be Florance Nightengale Syndrome...
People wonder why I am not married. If you cannot trust someone, then the worst thing you could do is marry them.
If his attorney was smart he would redirect and say it was mental abuse by her. She got into his head and convinced him he needed those guns to protect his family. Before this he only had a couple guns and went to the range a few times a year. Then get her butt thrown in jail for abuse.
Such a great collection, wonder when it will get auctioned. Makes me feel like I need to go to the gun show this weekend and stock up- I am behind this guy for sure!!
The only way out for him is to totally a-- kiss her till things cool down. Promise to sell his guns and recant from any militant thinking--- till he gets them back. Then hit the trail out of Mass as fast as possible with all his goodies. It is probably the only way he will regain them. Will be very interesting to follow. Wish him the very best.
The only problem is none of that is illegal in mass, except the shooting in the attic (maybe). Makes you wonder.
